It's not about England being worried about Belgium at least at this point. Belgium are expected to put a reserve side tonight, to rest players and because if they come second in the group (which isn't a guarantee), they'd in theory get an easier path to the final. Fyi England have only won a handful knockout games in history. If you discount the penalty win over Spain at Euro 96, England haven't beaten a strong side at a world cup since 66. The small handful of knockout games England have won in the last few decades were against teams they were fancied against and expected to beat. Besides there's another way. England and Belgium if they draw, it'd come down to fairplay. If England were have a few B team players that'll probably not play another game pick up a booking, then they get second without losing. wasted
There is no B team for England, Rose is probably better than Young. Vardy probably better striker than Sterling. Dier is about the same as Hendo. So even if we rotate players England will play to win. Switch Lingard for Vardy, Welbeck for Kane. Sometimes you just have to grab your balls and go for it. If Kane gets injured, Vardy is a prolific in off his shin specialist. Edited June 28, 2018 by wasted

Hazard is probably the best player in Prem. But Sterling, Ali, Lingard all had better seasons. We know Lukaku and Hazard like to play on the break. So deep defensive line. Use pace England have. Maybe throw on Rose and Vardy instead of Loftus cheek. But Lukaku has 3 legs. I put my bet on England on this one, knowing that Belgium has better players. Not after he meets Lee Catermole. True Belgium have DevBruyne. Back 3 solid as rock. Hazard not playing. There’s something about those 4 or 5 RNB stars for England. It’s just can they defend. The whole 3-4-3 thing gives me the shits.
ChristmasFnatic
Guys, who are you predicting on the upper(or left) bracket? Will we see Portugal vs. Argies?

moreblack
Portugal haven't blown anyone away yet. I think Uruguay could take that one. For me, France would edge Argentina.

moreblack
Looks like they both want the easier path, that presumably 2nd place has.

action
lmao, this game is hilarious. it's obvious neither party wants to score. Goals have been substituted with getting yellow cards. most fascinating match I've ever seen though. it's pure acting, its got nothing to do with football. I'm Welsh so I know a thing or two about how to get into the late stages of an international tournament thank you very much. You just need a decent game plan, a Gazza type character to keep the boys morale up (Vardey can do this but fake plastic tits would be welcome) and just fucking have a crack at whatever nation wants to try it's luck against you.
