I think there was an interview where Fortus said that he is in a group chat/text with Slash, Duff and Axl. It's either a group chat or they text a lot every night. Something like that.

What are the odds of it being Fart Tennis text?

Love 4tus. But remember he is a hired gun. He has zero influence despite what people think.

It depends on how the bands operating. He may be on contract but theres also a chance the band themselves are seeing this as a real band where everyone has a say and can collaborate, not only the big three (or big one).

Nope.
Unless you've seen some contract.

Have you? Do you actually think Slash & Duff have equal control with Axl?

No. Is not the same thing.

Sure it is. Axl can drop them anytime he feels like it. Of course, if Slash leaves again the band would die - there would be no coming back from that this time, but still.

Having Slash and Duff in the band, never, never is the same thing that having Fortus, dear God....the revisionists trying to justify Axl's mistake to go under the name of GNR...Fortus was hired to play GNR songs....Slash and Duff are GNR, big difference.

Oh I agree with you in one thing: no Slash no more GNR. If Axl wants to keep the band alive, he have to listen to Slash, simple as that.

This is exactly how we felt when those old enough heard the band fell apart in the 90's.  One thing is for sure, GN'R are not a typical band and the sky was falling back in the 90's yet here we are today.  Some could argue that if Axl didn't continue without them we would not be here today with Slash.  I am glad he did continue and have many awesome memories from the days without Slash.

I really don't understand this lineup purist thing. GN'R has been 'Axl's band' for a looong time now, ever since Tracii Guns left and Axl & Izzy replaced him with Slash. The classic lineup wasn't even the original, they only had 2 remaining members, so any purism regarding that is nonsense. Implying otherwise would be the real "revisionism".

There have been many different periods of this band that have brought us many different things, which is why we all seem to be such a diverse bunch of characters here - there's something for everyone. Some just happen to be more popular than others - whatever floats your boat.

The same people who cry "it's not real GN'R" and want guys like Sorum and Gilby back forget that they literally were 'hired guns' used when the band were a man down. It doesn't make them any less a part of the band's history. And ever since the GN'R entity became something that legally belonged to Axl, that's what everyone is now, even Slash and Duff - them being a part of the classic lineup doesn't change that.

The inclusion your favourite member(s) doesn't make it any more or less GN'R. Get a grip, people.

LOL @ anyone who doesn’t think this is nuGNR v4. Don’t lie to yourselves, the only difference is that this is a 2 guitar band again. Tommy left, Duff joined. BBF & Ashba left, Slash joined.

New music, unfortunately, will still be up to Axl’s. And that’s why I remain skeptical about any of this.

This band is actually way more complicated than any other.

There isn't just 1 or 2 or 3 different contracts, but more like 65.

Ie, Ax has the contract to the name, but all those years, even when he was not in the band, Slash has the rights for visuals, Duff has the main word in business part, hell even Adler and Iz have some money running to them other than royalties.

I once read, not too long ago, how things are divided business wise, it is nowhere near as close to what other bands have.

How is that bollocks? What he said is spot on ... GNR has technically had 30+ members throughout these 34 years ... AXL being the only one who remained for the whole tenure

That it ''has been 'Axl's band' for a looong time now, ever since Tracii Guns left and Axl & Izzy replaced him with Slash'. Guns, proper golden age era Guns, was never ''Axl's band''. Izzy, Slash and Duff all had key leadership roles.
