I forget the part where I supported Leftist Authoritarian rule... oh, no thats right, I never did that.

Im gonna guess you are a Bolsonaro supporter. If so, just know that I give zero fucks about your opinions. :)

I did support Bolsonaro. It was him or someone that clearly said he was Lula himself, a dude that is now locked up in jail.

If you don't give a fuck, imagine how I feel about some gringo that has never lived outside his comfy right wing first world country, that has no knowledge about the situation down here whatsoever, giving his opinions on who I should vote for😂

So, you don't support autoritharian lefties? What do you support then? It certainly is not socialism. Social democracy? We have that on Brasil, a strong state dictating all the rules and taking all of our resources in taxes and giving us rags in return, great deal. Communism? Well, even Marx didn't think it would be possible to implement it without socialism and there's tiranny again. The nordic model? They are center right, not left (it works afterall) and here's the danish prime minister explaining why they're not lefties:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thelocal.dk/20151101/danish-pm-in-us-denmark-is-not-socialist/amp

Face it, in the end of the day, the left wing is all about making a strong centralized power-hungry government that controls all and infests the state machine to work for its own designs. In fact at this point it could be called the "wrong wing", since we already have the right.

No behaviour is the product of one ideology over another. Both left and right have histories that are difficult to defend.

So with that said, let’s not derail this thread with arguments over ideology.

Please keep posts related to the topic.

And you know something about me? Still you are judging me based on the fact I voted for the only guy that didn't support a corrupt prisioner. You didn't answer any of my questions BTW.

Whatever, Downzy is right. This won't lead anywhere. I'll just ignore you for now.

Good on that young guy for egging that cunt. Way overreaction punching him and having the guys jump on him.

Most Aussies are good people. I do share the sentiment they're family not just friends/allies. And everywhere including NZ has its racism and nasty side. But they do have a very ingrained prevalent disposition for racism and xenophobia over there in Aussie. Even Kiwis who are citizens there are treated like second class citizens.

Don't get me started on Oz.

I watched the video and the part I found most disturbing was not the gore, it's actually "light" on gore as gore videos go, it was how casual, and relaxed this guy was the really disturbed me.   It is, as has been mentioned to in this thread already, an FPS of a massacre.  It's not close or high enough resolution to see much blood or gore, but knowing what it is and that it is real life makes it very disconcerting.  Also very disconcerting <in spoilers because this was especially disturbing to me>

Spoiler

When he coldly went back through and shot the wounded begging for help, right in the head.  He was clearly detached from any semblance of humanity.

That was when I was kinda done watching.

He clearly had no fear of any kind of retaliation, I don't know if he was on Xanax, or something, but he doesn't even breath heavy with the exception of when he ran after people.  Very methodical, relaxed and casual.  No leaning around corners, no taking cover of any sort, he either wanted to die, or expected no resistance.

He was also a really accurate shot. That's an observation, not a compliment of this cunt.  He hit a few people sprinting at a distance, I didn't see him miss one shot.  He had to have been training for this for some time.  I suppose the distance is exaggerated on camera, but these are still moving targets in what should have been a high adrenaline situation.  I think that's a serial killer trait, no empathy, no identifying with the reality of the situation.

It is so disconcerting to know this can happen in any place of worship, for any religion, including your and mine.

I agree, the resolution is too low for any of that, I would have thought twice about watching it otherwise, but seeing how relaxed he was is what made this very disturbing.

The shooter is a Trump fan. Coincidence?

One of the worshippers is credited for stopping the second attack from being worse than the first. Hope he gets a reward for his heroic efforts.

Not true.

A quote from his manifesto :

Quote

Were/are you a supporter of Donald Trump?

As a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose? Sure. As a policy maker and leader? Dear god no.

He is trained but this is likely his first combat experience. Too many 'rookie mistakes', his reloads were poor which made him waste time. At the end he said "it didn't go as expected".

Because his music in the car was for timing. He planned to burn the place down.

You can see him take out the gas cans and then second guess it.

The Arthur Brown song was for him to start the fire and "gas gas gas" was for him to get away.

imagine being transported from 1991 (or something equally tranquil) to this day and reading that post on the internet

the world has come to the point, where people watch "go-cam" footage of mass murder and casually discuss his reload times

I'm long overdue for an internet break

They woud probably not be that shocked after having spent watching hours of live coverage of the Gulf War on CNN in 1990 and 1991.

If there was footage that was filmed inside Columbine during the 1999 shooting, it would be considered historically significant.

I see your point, but his sloppy reloads stand out as part of the fearless theme.  The first thing I looked up after the video was if New Zealand was like England where nobody had guns.  Reasoning behind it was how relaxed and utterly free of any fear of kind of retaliation.  I wondered if it was because he was ready to die, or if he had no concerns because maybe the cops didn't carry guns there.

You cannot unmake the viewing of something like that so I'll refrain. I still haven't recovered from 2 Girls and a Cup.

Yeah, this is 100% true.  I'm desensitized to this sort of thing from seeing it, but the first real atrocity I ever watched was the Nick Berg beheading. (The first American executed in Iraq during the war rebuild)  It shook me hard, and changed my world view.  It's over a decade, and it still upsets me to think about.

This is how it’s done. Take note America.

Semi-automatic weapons will be banned – attorney general

New Zealand’s attorney general, David Parker, has warned of a global rise in extremism and said the government would ban semi-automatic rifles, the New Zealand Herald has reported.

He reportedly made the remarks at a vigil in Auckland’s Aotea Square to loud cheers.

“There is a dimming of enlightenment in many parts of the world,” he is quoted as saying, asking how can it be right that the atrocity was livestreamed and broadcast by social media companies.

His comments follow an earlier promise from the prime minister that gun laws will be changed. She said the main suspect had five firearms on him, including two semi-automatic weapons.

This is absolutely not how it should be done. This is the definition on knee jerk.
