Voodoochild
It was ok. I really think they should have focused on the recording itself, and not rehash the warehouse performance. The part where they rework River is Rising ending was the highlight IMO.

Free Bird
I still think it‘s a very natural sounding record. Captured that 70‘s rock n roll sound. Not over produced by any means. It‘s an easy listen and a very cohesive album.

Slash with pedal steel guitar Either new arrangement for Rocket Man or new song/cover in the set! Edited January 20 by Ralphelmo

Ralphelmo
I thought about it, maybe an instrumental one.

Gordon Comstock
I hope there's at least one or two instrumentals on his blues album...

I gotta say I'm looking forward to this album more than anything Slash has done since Ain't Life Grand. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of Myles voice (i'm sure he will be on at least one song though) but the the idea of who the other singers could be interests me & I wanna hear him do something more blues focused. There is also the tiny chance that Axl may be on it......tiny tiny chance. He should give Reece a song, she got pipes.

I've been saying for years now that the most interesting thing Slash could do would be a blues album, or another album with guest singers. This is by far the most excited I've been for one of his albums in at least a decade. An Axl collab would be great of course, even if he's just playing piano on an instrumental. It'll be really interesting to see who's on the album, but also who tours for it. I hope he does at least one tour for it without Myles...

He could do with having Rod Jackson on a song really, cracking voice for blues. I am hearing rumblings of Gary Clark jr being on it, totally unconfirmed though just a rumour. Although a smart choice if true. I also think Zack Wylde would work especially if its a 'Book Of Shadows' acoustic style driven thing.
Ralphelmo
Wondering how much Jimmy Vivino is involved, wouldnt be surprised if he made entire album as rhythm.
Free Bird
One would think Jimmy Vivino is a safe bet as guest on a blues record by Slash.

Aside from maybe seeing them live, I just don't care too much about this lineup or what they do any more. I Just heard The General for the first time because the new video just popped up on my youtube feed. If they keep diluting the setlist with all these "new" songs not sure if I will even continue to go see them live.

Voodoochild
Maybe I posted this in the wrong section, but it seems like Magnatone's guy is expecting Slash's solo album for March already.
metallex78
Since seeing Slash live in Sydney recently, I’ve revisited the 4 album, and I’m liking (even loving) it way more than when it first came out. Something about hearing the songs played live, has given me a much greater appreciation of them. I’d even go as far as saying that 4 is a really great album, when I mostly thought it was a bit meh, outside of the opening track and Fill My World. Through the Studio60 recording I started to love it and I’d say it’s the most cohesive SMKC record. The production of Studio 60 gives it a 70s hard rock vibe, which I really dig and I can listen to it without skipping anything. I’m looking forward to the gig in Duesseldorf next month.
