Your Most Favourite Show Ever?

Recommended Posts

2012 Detroit. My dad and I met Bumblefoot before the show. Up Close & Personal tour. Axl was feeling sick, but him and the band was on fire. November Rain stopped before the final solo. Axl talked about how Detroit should be the next place to be used to shoot pornos, apparently at the time there was a law requiring condoms to be used in porn in some country/state. I wish I asked Bumblefoot about CD2, but all I managed to ask was an autograph on my ticket and I complimented him on his hat.

Shackler's Revenge sounds amazing live. It was also cool hearing Civil War, as they didn't play that in 2011 when we saw them in Chicago.

I wish they would play Detroit again, the last time was 2021, which we also saw. And the 2016 show, which was also great.

Ritz in 88 from MTV is my favorite that I did not attend. That really cemented Guns as my favorite band.

Live in person, it has to be the Bridge School benefit with Axl in full Mickey mode 🤣

Haha, of course I’m only joking. Not that I wouldn’t mind a little smack :D

Oakland was the best overall experience, as we got Metallica as well. But seeing the partial reunion in 2016 at AT&T (now Oracle) Park was like a dream. I never thought I’d see Slash and Axl on stage again after the whole Hall of Fame deal

@janrichmond i love that @Oxford still has the mic with mud on it. :hug::dance:

The foam has yellowed loads over the years, originally it was pure white. The mud is still stuck under the tape. Most of it on the outside has rubbed off though.  It was framed for 15 years until I used the frame for something else.  I might get it done again now.  The amount of times I’ve nearly thrown this out because of house moves is scary.

I don't know why there isn't much of "our" concert out there on You tube. i have seen right up to where he like goes to throw it , but then it just cuts , i guess obviously cos they tried to run for it too. You were  the chosen one haha ...actually please promise me / us you will  get this piece of history framed since now hes not doing / not allowed to do the mic toss.

They didn't play the 9th June. Axl had to take some rest days after the Paris show on the 6th as he was suffering from exhaustion. I saw them at Wembley on the 13th when Brian May came on for 2 songs, we will rock you and tie your mother down. They played Maine Road the next day on the 14th slightly shorter set.

I know, it’s bloody annoying. I’d give anything to have a good dvd quality recording of the whole concert.  It’s even more annoying that there isn’t any footage of the throw.   I will get it framed.  I still have the tickets and programme too. So I will get them all framed so much better than it was before.  Finding decent images of that night are really hard though.

Sucks that he won’t be throwing the mic anymore, but in those days it was a proper overarm throw as far as he could.  In the last few years it’s been a gentle underarm toss.  You can’t beat the sound of the welly he put behind those throws of the 90’s.

Not seen as many as I would have liked. Only saw in the UK 91-93. During the 2000's I was too busy with work and family to get to the shows I was going to the o2 in 2012 but couldn't get out of work to go.

Got to see Axl with AC-DC in London back in 2016 and then seen Guns London 2017

Donnington 2018

London last year and seeing them at Hyde Park in June.

They're still my favourite band after 34 odd years.

Pissed it down  almost Glastonbury levels of mud fights!

The front was a great mosh pit. I think they had laid a load of straw down as well so it wasn't as bad. Soaking wet and covered in mud. I smelt great the next morning 😂

I missed my train home and spent the night sleeping on the floor in MK train station. Managed to get back to Brighton the next morning without a valid ticket, those were the days when you could freely walk through stations without the damned ticket barriers there are now.

I wanted to make it to 2012 too you know ,  i really did. but it wasn't possible... so , unfortunately it's only ever been MK 93 for me.

I love that you have appreciated them/him  for that long, like me.   ^_^

Our car broke down about half an hour after we left, and we got a few other friends to come and get us. We left the car there and never went back for it. It was only worth about £100
