I belive the story we got at the time was that Axl was in the air and his managers were calling the venue and saying "were on our way" and the promoters refuesd to wait. But I don't know why people generalize Americans as the only ones who do this...I've met Italians, and Brits who are the same...and it's different with different people..some Americans take off their shoes as soon as they walk in the front door.
