The answer is Beat It.

Can't believe I forgot Beat It...

I'd classify Prince as rock.

For some songs, yeah, but When Doves Cry is more funk/pop to me. Though I saw this video for the first time today of Prince absolutely killing it on guitar:

1. Fair point man.

2. The usual process of discussing the merits of Prince as a guitarist:

- Person 1: "Prince is awesome"

- Person 2: "Really?"

- Person 1: "Yeah watch this"

*Person 1 posts video of Prince at the RRHOF*

*faces melted within 10 mile radius*

Most songs released from 1955-1995 had some sort of guitar solo in them. It didn't matter if it was funk, soul, pop, country, or whatever most of them featured a guitar solo. It was when bands tuned down to C or even further for all that NUmetal crap, that's when the guitar solo went the way of the dodo bird. It's sort of ironic, because METAL actually killed guitar solos for a while. Now because of autotune and computers, where a solo should be, instead we get effects and other "things". Slowly guitar solos are making their way back into songs, but this generation tends to accept lower quality solos imo.
