Guns N' Roses @ Vegas - May 21-June 7

What if the reason for the delay is Gn'R are negotiating with a band to be the opener? They need an artist who can move a decent amount of tickets and be available for the length of the residency. I think they should either go with No Doubt or the Fake Alice In Chains. Buckcherry or Sebastian Bach won't sell any tickets and a band like A7X would likely command too much money.

They sold close to 90% of the tix at the last residency, didn't they? Though I guess it could be diminishing returns. Well done on A7X for getting to headline Download this summer, was very impressed when I saw them at RIR. Won't there be loads of tourists in the summer, anyway? Can see a lot of people just dropping by last minute.

I doubt they sold 90% of the tix but the gigs may have been 90% full. Casinos give away tons of tix to big spenders. That's where the money is made on events like these residencies. Once they get you into the show (even if they have to give you a comp ticket) they figure you will spend money gambling and on food/alcohol etc.

Says 88% of tix here, don't know reliable Wikipedia is (the Billboard pages it links to have expired): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appetite_for_Democracy

It's money in GNR's pocket either way, though.

I don't see the appeal of Vegas, tbh. YouTube videos of the last residency made the crowd seem dead, is that typical of shows there? For every electric Elvis-type gig, there seem to be a hundred sad Wayne Newton/Meat Loaf shows.

Fernando posted a pic on Instagram yesterday and commented tellin someone he knew to come see them during rehearsals the beginning of March. If anyones curious.

Makes sense, Dead Daisies' last date is 23rd Feb. Cutting it a bit fine, though, first week of March, is that enough time to rehearse? First show is 16th March. Short rehearsal time makes me worried it's not going to be that different from 2013...

I guess if they were indeed gonna play 3 "new" songs it would only take a couple weeks to work out. How much rehearsing does the rest of the set really need? Theyve been playin the songs for years....not to mention they didnt say at what point during the year they would add said 3 "new" songs.

How do you fuck up an announcement?

Didn't this happen with the south american annoucement as well?

And the rockfuel announcements. What is with these people?

Wait a damn minute, pahtna. Are you implying that GnR's management team isn't capable of performing simple tasks like making announcements of upcoming projects?

He's obviously a "butthurt, bitter ex-fan". No one in their right mind would argue that GNRs management isn't made of capable professionnals.

To be fair, they were probably not going to be the ones making the announcement. They were probably just part of coordinating the announcement. And I'm not implying anything. I'm saying flat out that they are shit at managing a band.

i don't think those dates were right due to the Jim Jeffries thing

When I called them bout 2 weeks ago they gave me the list of dates. A few days ago I contacted someone who works with the band and they said they are working through some scheduling conflicts. So I take it the Jim Jeffries bookings is what they meant by scheduling conflict. Guess we will see what happens now. But the dates I posted is the dates the Hard Rock gave me the first time I called.

Def Leppard extended their residency last year at The Joint by a couple shows, which clashed with the UFC TUF Finale that was scheduled to take place there. UFC had to move the finale to Mandalay Bay instead, so I doubt the Hard Rock would worry about re-scheduling the Jim Jeffries booking to accommodate GnR if they had to. They'll probably roll with whatever dates GnR management tell them (within reason of course)...

Having 2 events on the same day is not a issue. I really doubt a comedian has a major set up. ( a mic plugged into the p.a?) Getting people in & out is not a big issue either. BTW, I really have no clue who this guy is. But the joint seems pretty big for a comedian. Could it be he's playing in one of the side rooms there? either way, I'm pretty sure there will be no issues.

What he said. There's more than one room there at The Joint.

As far as I was aware 'The Joint' is the name of that particular venue/concert hall at the Hard Rock, not a collective term for multiple rooms... There is also the Vinyl, but Jim Jefferies is listed as playing The Joint.

Having 2 events on the same day is most definitely an issue, especially considering they are both evening events. Not possible. Hard Rock will re-schedule Jefferies if GnR require that date.

Tom Petty is playing the hard rock June 1st and 2nd

Where did you see this? It isn't listed on the Hard Rock website or on Tom Petty's website or on ticketmaster. The only thing booked at the joint from May 21 - June 7 is the comedian on May 31. Edited by Jeffk
