soon
If Im not mistaken, the Jack Daniels Distillery is located in a Dry County. So if you go for a tour you cant get samples. Weird. I do love the tale of Carrie Nation and her "Hatchet-tations." She was a long-time temperance activist in the US who got fed up the lack of enforcement in Dry Counties that still had saloons operating. So she took matters into her own hands using "smashers" and then her famous hatchet. She smashed up saloons, stores of barrels and even a saloon-wares supply store. She did many Hatchet-tations, as she called them, and inspired 100's more. She was in and out of jail but it was those same sherifs who were allowing the illegal activity of the saloons so she was never there long before recommencing her Hatchet-tations. All the Sherifs and Governor could say was that she 'wasn't acting like a lady.' Edited September 9, 2018 by soon
Fitha_whiskey
I’ve seen Carrie Nation’s house in Medicine Lodge KS. And there are a few dry counties here in KS still. Hard to believe in 2018, but it’s true... Obviously I don’t live in one of those counties- we’ve got about 10 liquor stores per square mile here in this one! I’m fuckin’ baffled to be honest. Same as in Norway. Anything stronger than 4.5 % alcohol must be sold in governmentally-controlled outlets called "Vinmonopolet" (literally "the wine monopoly"). Fortunately, such outlets are all over and well-stocked (much more than a typical US liquor store, and if you happen to live far from one then you can just order online and they will ship it to your island or wherever you live, for free). That being said, it is a bit of a hassle that you can't just pop into your corner grocery store to pick up a bottle of wine for dinner. They also close early and are completely closed on holidays and days before voting day and so on. So you have to remember these things. We also used to have "dry counties", more or less. Where I come from, only a few decades ago you couldn't buy beer. You would have to order it at a "beer monopoly", and you would have to order a crate at a time. So just having a beer became a hassle. But down there they also frowned upon dancing and generally having fun.

You got to take the good with the bad. We are also not very social, we lack warmth and that easy-going humor you guys got, and the weather is, to put it mildly, an acquired taste. But it is also beautiful, safe, secure, ordered, you get taken well care of, clean, low inequality, sporty, down-to-earth people.

Is this legit, a lot of people are into sexual encounters with animals, even whales, in Norway?

Haha, I heard a few jokes on the radio and didn't think anything based on that alone. But then recently I heard what sounded like a serious reference. But when I did a quick google I couldn't really find a reputable source in a language I can read. However, based on the re-occuring dates of legislations being introduced in 1972 and 2009/10 I kept noting, I wondered if there is something to it. I can't read this wiki but the dates I'd seen elsewhere are listed once again. What does this wiki say? https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoofili

I can't read this wiki but the dates I'd seen elsewhere are listed once again. What does this wiki say? https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoofili Quickly translated: "Zoophilia in Norway The old law against zoophilia was discarded in 1972 while distribution of animal porno remained illegal. Examples of zoophilia in Norway has been reported. On February 28 2008, the government introduced a new bill on animal welfare which included making zoophilia illegal. The new bill was put into effect in 2009, and it explicitly makes sexual conduct and sexual activity with animals illegal." So I think we got it covered legally I think I remember some years ago about a country where it wasn't illegal (maybe The Netherlands or Germany?), but there will always be laws against animal cruelty that will come in effect in most cases anyway, so in a sense it is largely redundant. I suppose that wherever you have lots of agriculture with farm animals there will be some zoophilia. You know what they same about any place with lots of sheep, "where men are men and the sheep are anxious." Could be Wales, could be Australia, could be Missouri, could be parts of Norway too. I remember some farm boys joking about having sex with sheep many years ago, but you never knew if there was something to what they said and not just jokes. I wonder if it is mostly people being being actually sexually attracted to animals, which sounds very strange and hard to imagine could be very prevalent, or if it is just sexually frustrated people who look for an outlet. I have no idea.

I dont know of that one stone carving depicting multiple people engaging one horse is from Norway or not but that was some weird imagery! The other imagine of the mythological creature and a deer, plus this scene from Step Brothers suggests it may be related to your Mythology too
