The "Axl/Slash/Duff + 2 Mystery Players Re-banded But Not A Reunion Tour" Thread - Announcement Imminent!

Recommended Posts

Remember when this thread started out as the Dish Nation "days away" thread in November?

Here we are 468 pages later, and only now do we finally have confirmation lol

Still the best thing to happen to this band since 1993 tho!

Thinking on it, just having Axl, Slash and Duff would be alright if that's what a reunion tour consisted of; the three went from the beginning all the way to the dissolution of the band in the mid-90's while the other spots had folk coming and going. It'd be good shit if GnR did something similar to Metallica's 30th anniversary shows where ALL the alumni came back to do songs with the band one last time, but there might be a few burned bridges :bucket:

Because the classic lineup or the Illusions lineup isn't likely to be the main lineup of this, I'd like to see all previous/current members of GN'R get some occasional shows with Axl, Slash, and Duff being the constant members.

http://eddietrunk.com/its-official-guns-n-roses-to-headline-coachella-festival-axl-roses-jimmy-kimmel-appearance-may-be-canceled/

It’s official! Guns N’ Roses have been announced as one of the headliners of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which features the same three-day lineup playing two consecutive weekends, April 15th-17th and April 22nd-24th, at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, Calif.

The band will headline the Saturday date both weekends (April 16th & 23rd), but as of yet there has been no confirmation as to who will be part of the lineup when they take the stage. Speculation has been that Axl Rose and Slash will be part of the lineup, and there have been hints that bassist Duff McKagan will be joining in, but the status of other classic lineup members has not been as clear cut. Adding fuel to the speculation, both Slash and Duff have added images of the classic Guns N’ Roses logo with a Coachella backdrop to their respective Facebook pages.

In addition to Guns N’ Roses, the music weekend will feature such rock related acts as Volbeat, Rancid, The Arcs, The Damned, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Nightsweats, Deafheaven and more. The opening night of each weekend will feature a reunion of LCD Soundsystem, while the closing night will be finished out by club favorite Calvin Harris. To see the full lineup, visit the Coachella website or check out the bill posted below. Remaining tickets for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will go on sale this Wednesday (January 6th) at 11AM PT.

In other Guns N’ Roses news, Axl Rose’s rumored appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night is now in doubt. Rose was listed on the Kimmel website earlier Monday, but now no longer appears in the billing. The fan-operated myGNRforum.com inquired about the change and was told that the singer would not be appearing on the late night talk show.

[Dana’s note 1/5/2016: I am currently watching “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and Mr. Kimmel just confirmed that Axl Rose did cancel his appearance that was scheduled for tomorrow night.]

to be honest I couldn't care less about other people or who's in the band or who's doing reunion. Yes, reunion is just another thing for axl before he's retired.

what makes me happy the most is the fact that slash will be on stage with axl, I'm good with that, that's all I need. The real gnr died long ago, ain't no reunion gonna be able to bring it back and ain't no way in hell would there be a classic line up reunion anytime soon.

this is more like a axl/slash thing to settle once and for all so axl can put the gnr name down and retire, I'm cool with that

Is there any solid confirmation Axl Slash and Duff will be in the line up ?

Duff McKagan changing his official Facebook page's profile picture and banner to promote GNR, and Slash sharing Coachella's banner too.

No, but the fact that both change retweet the news that GN'R will play Coachella is pretty close.

Pitman is in, Frank is congraulated with the gig on Facebook. Richars has implied still being in the band. Dizzy is presumably still in. And bizzarre rumours that Dave Kushner is the third guitarist.

Wierd times.

According to a band mate of Frank from Mule Kick, he just had his last gig with the band as he "HEADS TO L.A ON A 'TOP SECRET' MISSION".

Is the new lineup doing some appearance/concert/promotion together?

None. Other than Slash & Duff posting the GNR logo Coachella pics on facebook/instagram. However, seeing the track record of GNR management I still think there will be no reunion or interviews or album.

Yes. Axl, Richard Fortus, Chris Pitman, Dizzy Reed and Frank Ferrer will be playing Coachella.

Maybe we'll see the GNR experience. 20 people on tour and four sets with different memebers changing for each era. Start with chi dem, then go into VR, then illusions and finish it off with appetite. Axl can change outfits with each set too and go from a cowboy hat to finishing the show in bicycle shorts.
