ZoSoRose
I loved the 2010, 2011, 2012 shows I saw. Amazing experiences. But they don't match the reunion!

Silent Jay
You've got to admit '09-'10 shows were crazy, the whole vibe surrounding after the ChDm release plus the setlists, Axl had something to prove again they also played the longest GnR show ever. The last vegas shows in 2014 are one of my favourites as well. I miss Tommy, Bumble and Pitman at times. But yes Slash over Dj any day. moreblack
I'll never know what Pittman was doing there. At least Melissa can sing.

Popular Post Use Your Delusion II
I'm a little late with this, but I have to say that this show was the greatest concert experience of my life and it wasn't even close. While I thought Slash completely stole the show in Vegas, Axl held his own in this one. Being close to the action (7th row, center aisle) gave me a completely different perspective of his stage presence. I was impressed by Axl's energy, enthusiasm, constant movement, and occasionally running across the stage like it was 1992 again...all without sounding gassed like the 2002 VMA's. He had moments where he struggled with his vocals, but not enough that it detracted from my enjoyment. As others have noted, there is a massive difference between actually being there and watching videos on YouTube. Slash was Slash (amazing, unbelievable, elevated the band to levels only he can) and the rest of the band sounded great too. The stage and moving video screens were cool, but I hardly noticed any of the production because I was focused on the band the entire time. Highlights for me included Jungle (Axl is nailing it these days), a superb Rocket Queen outro (my video below), basically every Slash solo, and Slash occasionally cracking a smile. This show was worth every penny in my book - I recommend buying the best tickets you can get/afford and enjoy what MIGHT be your last chance to see these guys together and performing at this level. It's not 80's/90's GNR again, but this is about as damn close as you're gonna get.

He sounds much better live than any periscope stream I've seen.

Un42nutzly
Robin's TIL solo is similar to the famous Comfortably Numb solo in the sense that less is more. It's incredible what he does with that song.

That's fair enough, it is his tune after all. I do like Robins solo, but I love the way Slash just goes at it, improvising from his heart, every night. Magical. Fuck DJ Ashba. The last NuGNR show should have ended that way, Robin, Bucket, Brain and Josh Freese should have been there to play all the CD songs one last time together, even that would have been an experience on its own.

Slash is making the solo better show after show, it seems like he might have recorded the same thing back in 1994, who knows maybe its that same old solo.

Anyone else would probably just play the same thing every night. When Finck did the same with Slash solos you din t think that way. Slash attempt at TIL solo sucks every night. The original solo still better. The fact is Finck solo has more soul than Slash solo. It seems like Slash now like to play fast... like he needs to proove something. Wish to see the Blues, drunk, loose and amazing Slash back.

I much prefer Slash's solos on TIL than any version Ashba or Fink ever did, I just love Slash's natural way of phrasing notes in general.
