What kind of a Guns N' Roses fan can't recognize Slash's hammered Americanized British brutish slur? It's 1000% Slash. He even sounds a bit like that it Dust N Bones.

Now what I'd like to know is who says the beginning words of UTLH... I think it's Izzy.

It's Slash. He's finishing his sentence as in "and to all those opposed... Hm, well... (chuckle)" as the crowd is yelling get in the ring. He's laughing because he's telling the listener to listen to the crowd. Why would Duff randomly finish the smug remark? It's all Slash.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia credits Duff with backing vocals. No other member is credited with backing vocals. I'm saying it's Duff.

Pretty cool thread. It's funny how both sides swear up and down that it's obvious. They sound a lot alike when they're fucked up.

Actually, my former band recorded a few songs at Metal Works, a well known studio outside of Toronto where Slash's part was recorded.  One of the tech guys told me that one of the stories from that recording session was that Slash was extremely fucked up and didn't realize that there was more written on the back of the paper he was reading from.  So when he says, "and to all those who oppose, hmmm... well?," that's Slash looking into the engineering/mixing room asking the people inside what they thought.  Everyone in the room started laughing, which caused Slash to chuckle.  

The tech who told me wasn't there himself, but was told the story from a tech who was there but no longer worked at Metal Works.  So who knows if it's a case of broken telephone, but that's how it was told to me. 

He also told me that Axl got really angry (for reasons I forgot) while at the studio and stormed out and started walking around what at the time was mostly farmland.  They had to send the limo out looking for him.

I guess I always assumed it was Duff since he sang almost the entire song with Axl, but it doesn't sound more and more like Slash each time I listen to it

To me it's absolutely clear that it's Slash. He should have said "all things considered" so there wouldn't be any doubts

Which bit in Dust N Bones? That song is sung by Izzy? Good question on the first bit of Used to Love Her though.... I always thought Duff. But now this thread is making me question everything I thought I knew

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Thank you for sharing those!! I stand corrected. I feel like everything I thought I knew about the world is no longer true . That's some great footage of Slash from '88 too, never seen it before.
