Hilarious. The guy said he hadn't listened to it since 2008. That's a fair while, and i assume he hasn't given a very good listen to the album. I never said listening to it will make him really like it. I just said it might grow on him like it has on myself and others. Rovim Posted February 15, 2016 Share Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) I listen mostly to a few songs from each Guns album. Chinese gets played a lot, but Lies gets a lot of love as well. Appetite and Illusions not as often, but I go back to it from time to time. All the albums of original material still sound great to me and you can't really get that vibe from a different band imo, even after all these years. I would occasionally chuck on Illusion for the Stradlin numbers (e.g. 14 Years, Dust N' Bones). Live Era is much poorer than the bootlegs. The Spaghetti Incident? is completely unlistenable. It's mostly because Axl Rose has made himself into an excuse making factory and pretty clear he's surrounded himself by yes men and enablers. None of that has ruined my enjoyment of the music but it has definitely ruined the cool factor of GnR. The way GnR has been handled post 1995 is almost similar to how Michael Bay has handled Transformers. They've taken a great franchise and made a complete mockery of it to the point it's embarassing.
