born2boogie Posted April 2, 2016 Share Posted April 2, 2016 My main thoughts are: Axl sounded better than I expected and I'm so thankful he's not wearing a hat and doesn't have a mustache. Also dug his outfits compared to some of the terrible ones I had seen when I watched NuGuns videos. I love that he brought out his 80s skeleton jacket....he's feeling the nostalgia haha! Slash seemed a little lethargic at times, or maybe he was just nervous? Duff of course was great. I didn't notice the new girl, so I'm not bothered or bent outta shape by her like some people. The main thing that stuck out for me was how terrible the drummer is. I guess I can only hope he develops a vibe/connection with Duff and Slash as the tour progresses, because honestly his drumming was bad to the point where it distracted me in most of the videos. I mean Matt Sorum doesn't have the same vibe that Steven Adler brought to the band but at least he had a good musical connection with Duff and Slash. We will have to wait and see I guess... Maybe being away from these guys weighed more heavily on him than we thought. On every post UYI show I've seen up until last night, he looked either bored , irritated, out of it, or too mellow, but last night he looks like the Axl of old! How the hell could a lip sync track be a good fit with that? it's not like Celine Dion where every night is note to note the same Broadway style perfection.
