Tourettes2400
This is the first one that I’m not going to for this summer. I think two shows are enough, well at least as far as festivals go.
rockphantom
I am hoping a Dallas show at the American Airlines Center is announced to take place during the week between the ACL gigs. If this happens, I'll skip ACL. Edited April 30, 2019 by rockphantom
BlueJean Baby
Hoping they add a few other cities, since they will be in TN and KY, why not Atlanta?? 🤗
Kwick1
ACL will draw more than college kids and hipsters. Austin is a big draw itself. The last concert I went to at Zilker Park was Pearl Jam in '92. Didn't like it as a venue but I'm sure they've made improvements. I too am hoping for a non festival show in Dallas. After all, GnR does like playing in Dallas. 🤗
Rusty69
Atlanta and Dallas were both not on the 2017 arena run

No need for any rock fan to buy 3 day weekend tickets for ACL. I must be old (41), because other than the Cure and Bruce Hornsby I have never heard a song from any of the other artists!! LAME!!!!! https://www.aclfestival.com/lineup/ I'm 42 and to me it looks like an awesome festival, a handful of big names and lots of unknown bands I have never heard of to discover live in person - what's not to like? I wish they'd do festivals like that in Europe.

Black Sabbath
I’ll probably be doing these two shows as well.

Is that common to play both weekends? I don't see them doing shows on their own this time unless they do a club, barbeque, birthday party, something like that just for fun. Maybe your local piano bar.
WHENEVER
Got my tickets. I'm not really a fan of festivals but I've always enjoyed ACL. Lots of diverse acts and I always discover some band that I've never heard of that I end up really liking. Austin is a blast, too!

It's more about some people being happy just listening to the music of their youth. I seek out new stuff too. Whatever makes you happy, honestly. But the lineup isn't lame. Sorry @Gordon Comstock GnR and .Paak at the same show would be insane, I'd probably have travelled for that line-up...

Yeah this is an awesome festival lineup. Billie Eilish, Kacey Musgraves, etc. Wish I could go. Definitely agree about expanding horizons.
The Holographic Universe
Has anyone here on this forum purchased GA to this show? I’m curious if that’s worth it considering the size of the crowd.
lame ass security
I posted a few weeks ago that I thought Guns would play the Vatican before they played ACL. I was talking about the show Austin City Limits on PBS, not the festival. I honestly wasn't aware of the festival when I posted. I just felt the need to clarify that.😊

rockphantom
Here's a question for those who have purchased ACL 3 day passes. Does the $260 price include service fees? My friends and I want to buy 1 day passes for GNR when they become available. Thanks!
