I'd love it if they'd get a new record out too but for this band, I'm happy if it's only a tour.

A few years ago Tom Morello said he didn’t see the point in a new RATM record because he felt like all of the old records were already timeless enough. I suppose his opinion could have changed recently, tho.

I got Vienna seating, pretty good seats. I'd actually say the best seats but I wanted standing but that went all in the first 0.4 seconds. It was carnage

It was amazing. I reloaded at 12:00 got in, picked my front of stage, checked out and paid. All within 2 mins. No waiting. No waiting room. No nothing. Never ever had such a hasslefree experience for a show that was sold out in 20 minutes. Whereas for Toronto I reloaded at the start, had 2000 people in front of me, got in 40 minutes later and all that was available was those damn charity tix. But I'm good with that, more time to explore Toronto. Just don't know how I can wait until September.

At least their headlining show at Boston Calling is still on for now, it seems. Same with RHCP (who are headlining the day after RATM).

Hopefully Boston Calling still happens (as long as the world is safe again by then, that is).

Anybody gone to a gig yet? I caught the show in Buffalo last night. It was good all things considered. The band sounds great, and looks good besides the fact that Zack is having to sit for the whole show. The setlist was great - hitting all of the hits and a few deep cuts mixed in.

That said, I feel like in certain ways this is a bit of a cash grab. All tickets at one price is fine - but $125 before fees is a lot for cheap seats to see this band with essentially no stage show. Add on expensive merch - $50 lithos, $40 shirts including city-specific event shirts, is that really what RATM is about? It's clear the message of the music is still at the forefront, but some of the commercialism of it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Damn! Really sad news! I'm very glad that I got to see them in 2008 and I hoped I'd see them again. But if it's about health reasons (Zach's Achilles) there's not much anybody can do. Health comes first.

Zack can actually walk again. He was marching with protesters recently. Based on brad’s wording, sounds like the guys are mad at each other again. I had a feeling something was wrong when only morello showed up to their RHOF induction a few months ago.

The bassist still has cancer, though. And people were saying Wilk needed assistants rubbing him and pouring cold water on him between songs on this most recent tour. So it could also be health related, as you’re saying.

That's even worse. :( Now that you mention it I do remember hearing about this, but I'd completely forgotten about it.

I suppose it could even be that they're still good but that Tim's situation has become too bad to deal with on tour. But yeah, the HoF thing doesn't make sense either. In any case - sad news.

Edit: But I don't really know whether Tim is getting treatment and/or how it's going currently.

If you think about it. Brad only said that ratm in the original lineup won't be touring anymore. We haven't heard anything official from the band itself. I could imagine them maybe coming back at some point with a replacement for tim or brad - depending on who the problem is within the band.

I hope they don't do that. RATM has always been these 4 guys ever since they began in the early 90's. Replacing someone now would just be lame imo.
