SAU3R
To those of you who use Spotify what did your recap of 2020 look like? my Top 5 artists are: 1. Alanis Morissette 2. AC/DC 3. Prince 4. Marillion 5. Pearl Jam If Power Up came out earlier, AC/DC would probably be on No. 1 Edited December 5, 2020 by SAU3R
Dean
I really liked how the presented the year recap, very nicely done. I only use Spotify when out runs, I still rely on my iPod mostly for on the go stuff for the car etc, so that's still my main source for listening to music out of the house. Here is my top 5: Guns N' Roses Queen Tommy Stinson James AC/DC
Mendez
Spotify is my main source of music 1 Rage Against the Machine 2 Red Hot Chili Peppers 3 System of a Down 4 Banda MS 5 Michael Jackson Although i have been playing Run the Jewels alot lately, but I barely started listening to them within the past 2 months. I almost never listen to GNR anymore. Only thing GNR related I listen to is the Village leaks that have vocals Edited December 6, 2020 by Mendez
SoundOfAGun
My wife has been listening to my Spotify account this year, so my 2020 has been polluted and peppered with some solid gold dogshit.

ToonGuns
1. Max Richter. 2. AC/DC 3. Rush 4. Deep Purple 5. Porcupine Tree I have quite a varied taste (listen to metal, rock, jazz, ambient, fusion, programming etc) so quite surprised at that list. I like listening to bands on random when at work so typically choose bands with larke back catalogues like Rush. Also my Alexa must have a caching issue as when I say "Alexa, play music" it always seems to pick Rush. Max Richter is a minimalistic classical composer me and my wife love, his reworking of Vivaldi's work is wonderful, and I often listen to him when at work as it relaxes me. I also listen to a lot of Brian Eno so I'm a little surprised he didn't make it. AC/DC will be there as I always listen to them anyway, but dove into their PWR/UP playlist quite a bit. Deep Purple's new album had a lot of plays by me this year - love Steve Morse (on that note I'm amazed Flying Colors aren't in my top 5). And Porcupine Tree I love (In Absentia is amazing). Guns would be nowhere near the top. Probably not top 50 I'd guess. I use spotify to find new songs / artists and dive into massive back catalogues, not play the same songs over and over again. 15 hours ago, SoundOfAGun said: My wife has been listening to my Spotify account this year, so my 2020 has been polluted and peppered with some solid gold dogshit. Well music is a subjective thing, so my dogshit might be another person's top track list.. but examples would include; Specific songs: MAMACITA - Black Eyed Peas Dancing In The Moonlight - Jubel Breaking Me - Topic Playlists: Massive Dance Classics We do have some musical common ground, but she needs her own account...
bucketfoot
I've never, ever used Spotify. It's just not the way I consume music, it's an alien concept to me. Fuck me, even my old man has it but I don't.

My preferred way to listen to music is at home on vinyl but I listen a LOT on the go and Spotify helps a great deal with that.

My favourite way to listen to music is old school at home with a beer or wine, and the vinyl player blasting. I've switched back to vinyl over the past year or so having sold a lot of my CD's and missed the physical product, and vinyl offers that and so much more. Hiwever I use Spotify a lot as well, mainly to delve deeply into an artists back catalogue. What I love is you can search for any artist and trawl through (almost) their entire discographies just like that and really delve deep. Also the Discover Weekly playlist is always introducing me to new stuff to try. Then once I pick out what you like, if I like it enough I buy the physical vinyl to support.
