Thank you 😎 They weren’t my favourite style that he’s chosen, they’re definitely not the worst though. I think the jeans suit the Nikes way better. The silver pants looked a bit mismatch with the rest of his attire

I don't get why people were so "offended" (I don't mean the word literally, obviously) by the silver pants (maybe it's just a dude thing? ) I thought they were fine - a bit eccentric, sure, but Axl has always sported eccentric outfits. They were also more flattering because they were looser. Axl's legs are thin and as a result the tight jeans make the upper part of his body (and especially the waist area where he's bigger) more prominent. Scott wore somewhat similar silver pants in the Slither video. (but with no shirt which is a different look) agreed about the tight jeans with Axl's legs, it doesn't work.

I’ve only just realised this so I will word this as best as I can and hopefully make some sense. I think when Axl wears those silver trousers/pants it somehow solidifies the fact this isn’t Axl of 10/20 years ago, they definitely shows his age. I know deep down he’s older now and I accept it but when he wears the jeans for a more *younger look/style* it makes me hold on to the thought that he’s not old… but deep down I know he actually is and it still hurts. 😅

Maybe they did make him look like an aged, though still eccentric, rockstar (which he is), and I liked that. Many people are put off by the short hair for similar reasons. I was put off at first, too, mostly in combination with the shape he was in when he first cut it, but now I actually prefer it short, especially when it's a bit messy, compared to the messy longer hair from 2016-18. I think what made him look old the most (and not in a good way - he even looked older than his age) was the mustache and the overall look of that era (hats, layers, etc., and the jeans didn't really help). He looks more youthful now, silver pants or not 3 1

Popular Post AxlRoseCDII
I was there. Monster setlist. Just an absolutely wild one. 33 songs is insane. I feel very lucky. I heard for the first time: PTU, Bad Obsession, DoTF (my favorite Spaghetti cover), Reckless Life, Perhaps, Hard Skool, SOD, Absurd, and Anything Goes. 10 songs I’ve never heard before from all GNR albums is wild. Had a great time. Me and my friend agreed Axl sucked on Jungle, SCOM, YCBM, but when you’re there and having fun it’s no problem. It’s just fun to be there and experience it. Out of three shows I’ve seen it’s by far my favorite. For all the jokes I make about this band I’ll never miss the opportunity to see them given I can afford it. 12
BigMike322
I think it's awesome that they're switching up thrnset list. I love Pretty Tied Up and Street of Dreams.
Popular Post Jwalker19
Am I the only one that feels like in the last few shows Axl has been moving around more and trying harder on his vocal techniques? I feel like I'm seeing more running, dancing, gestures, better overall vocals, longer sustained notes, etc. He seems like he's having a better time than usual and putting in more effort. I wonder what it's attributed to. I remember some people talking about the humidity or some shit 😂. I wonder if he's happier because he's completely over his illness or something. 4
Popular Post IndiannaRose
I was there. I've seen the re-united version of the band 8 times, and this show was by far the best. Axl's performance was very physical, and the people around me were floored by Slash (also literally since we were on the floor). Rather than a collection of individuals, the band is truly a band at this point. Edited October 2, 2023 by IndiannaRose
Popular Post slash23579
Great show, Axl killed it last night. Everyone in the crowd around me was talking about how great Axl sounded. One of the best GNR concerts i’ve been to, very glad I was able to come out for it 10
Dani_1455
Checking the videos more carefully, this is Axl best performance for me since 2018 probably, Madagascar sound incredible, best Perhaps for sure, best Nightrain of the year and I really want to hear this SOD, hope someone uploaded It soon! Axl vocals seem a lot more stronger in the clean voice and there was also rasp in some songs, I did not think Axl could reach this level again

He was moving around a lot (and running, doing dance moves, being expressive, etc.) at the European shows, too. Maybe he wasn't doing that too much during the first NA shows because he was not feeling well.
ChristianGNR
Usually I think people are overreacting about Axl vocals when I see a lot of good feedback, but yes, his Madagascar performance in this show is amazing.

That is honestly how I felt too, I loved the 2016 shows I saw because it was new and Axl was in such fine form, but rhythmically as a band there is a cohesion there that I felt last night that even 2016 didn't have Dizzy found his place in more moments (more prominent in the RQ jam middle part, Anything Goes, etc.), Frank actually had better overall feel, and just the rhythm section was locked in the whole time, etc. I honestly might place San Diego 2023 over San Diego 2016 or even Dodger Stadium 2016 even if Axl was raspier during those times
