I'm with you mate. I can't get excited at all for 1 - 2 songs a year getting dropped to justify the touring. Put an album out or retire and stop touring. Its all incredibly boring in the world of GnR nowadays. The band as we knew it as a creative driving force with an artistic fire died years ago. Probably around the time Chinese came out. That was it. Now its not even a band anymore. More of a retirement fund organisation for three guys and their families.

I feel very similar to this, I can't get excited by the piece mail releases... well if the songs were amazing maybe it'd be ok, but they are a bit shit.

I need a full album, that's how I like to enjoy new music. When they said they didn't know how to release music, I now fully agree. Don't get me wrong the idea in itself is good! but the band should have had a years worth of gigs lined up and then over that year each month or so drop a new song, that's momentum. Now they've released two songs 6 months ago that most people can't remember... exactly what has it done to help ticket sales? zero. The planning is moronic. It really isn't that hard, make a song release it, promote it everywhere and anywhere, play it live... rinse repeat.

I've sort of written the band off really as a creative entity.

It will be nice to hear a few more reworkings of tracks we (probaby) already have from the leaks, for curiosity value, but that's about all we're going to get. And even that isn't guaranteed until it happens.

Such a massive waste of time and talent, in my view the biggest in the whole history of music, but it you expect this band to still be a creative unit, you're setting yourself up for disappointment at this stage.

The simple truth is that they're just not interested. Well, one man isn't interested.

It's really quite hard to accept, but that's just how it is. It's simply to late now for the big turnaround in this story.

Maybe it would have been better if Axl just retired after Chinese and the leaks never happend.

Yeah, it's difficult to accept.

For me the the obvious stopping point was after those LA Forum shows on the NITL tour. That felt quite final at the time, They'd toured the world, we'd had the chance to see them onstage together again, and I definitely wouldn't have wanted to not have the chance of seeing that.

The 2 singles a year is better than nothing, but still obnoxious. I like to be immersed in an album. If an eventual album comes out in 2025, having heard most of the songs spaced out years prior takes a lot of the magic out of it for me, and we were pretty much at that point with the 2008 album anyways with the leaks. CD2 would have been way more mysterious had it been released before the 2019 Village leaks. As that album was in 2008-2014, I'm sure it was overproduced and layered as fuck. Now, who knows what it sounds like. Probably poorly mixed and mastered like Hard Skool and Absurd with Slash and Duff all over them. :(

I hope I'm wrong, and that the eventual album is an improved CD2, with proper mixing and a nice master.  And if we are real lucky, we will get a few Bucket and Robin solos on there. :)

Who on earth thinks we are even getting 2 singles a year!!?

Slash's mention of 'a couple of songs' was because he knows they have 2 (maybe 3) ready.

I doubt they'll even release these, but if they do, there certainly won't be 2 a year

We had two singles last year and I believe we will get two more this year. What happens next, I don't dare to guess, but I am confident more music will follow.

I doubt we will, but if we do, it'll be the 2 that we know he has completed vocals for.

If you think there is anything after that, you are in absolute dreamland.

Well... Rose hasn't recorded since 1999, and the only songs he has left are Atlas, OMG and Perhaps. There is absolutely no way there's any other songs created between 1999 and present day that Axl has written or recorded vocals on.

I think that covers things nicely😁

I can't remember a time when I couldn't recite this opinion on command.

Is that so? Wow, tell me more about your beliefs!

They'll just be reinforced as the weeks/months/years go by without any sign of anything new - apart from the exact ones I told you he'll release.

While you comb through interviews with Richard Fortus from 2002 using that as some sort of proof that these make believe songs still exist.

It's wrong though isn't it.

He did some vocals post 99.

You mean Bailey. Bailey hasn't recorded since 99 (and Hudson hasn't been doing anything either). And whatever old Bill Bailey was doing in that 10+ different studios apart from the Village back then, it was probably just tweaking those 13 songs round and round for years on. I mean, all we've got so far was the Village leaks, hence only the Village material exists and nothing more. Makes sense!

100% all he was doing in those 10+ studios was tweaking those same songs.

Just because you've seen 10 studios listed doesn't mean Rose went anywhere near them.

Most will just be where someone went in for a day and re-recorded yet another guitar riff to overlay on top of an existing one.

The few interviews we've heard involving the recording process were all pretty consistent in saying Rose wasn't present most of the time.

oh yeah, it's all very wrong on many levels

Very much so.

He did an additional batch of vocals in 05-06.

Tommy said that Axl recorded vocals every year LIED!!!

And Mark Gray, engineer @Palms Studio in Las Vegas would talk about Axl working on many songs back in 2006 LIED EVEN MORE!!!!

And as you know, Axl has a home studio for recording vocals, too, and studio engineers are usually very tight-lipped so I say it is not implausible at all that Axl has worked on music we don't know about LIE THE MOST!!!!!

Cool.  Looking forward to hearing all of these vocals then.

Oh wait

Genuinely, if you actually believe that Axl recorded vocals every year because one of his employees said so, I don't know what to tell you.

Every year would mean he has 25 years of vocals recorded, yet he chose to release Silkworms and HardSkool.

Not only did he choose to release those 2 but he also used the vocal take from 20 years ago...

:lol:Exactly!  Not only that, he pasted some 'yeah yeah' vocals cut from the 'Eye on You' demo to create an illusion of new parts.

It couldn't be more clearer that they have absolutely nothing left and they are just gonna prolong what they have left over from the village sessions for the next few years.

At was hilarious (and utterly predictable) to see Slash go from talking about a new albuym, to an album of songs that Rose already had, to the probability of releasing two songs.  I wonder what those two songs are gonna be :lol: (hint - it's gonna be the 2 left with usable vocals from the village sessions - the 2 I've been saying they'll release before Slash even mentioned a new album)

You have to give credit to Pele, he clearly doesn't care that he has become a running joke on the biggest GNR forum and that everybody laughs at him. Good for him.

Who is a joke though?

It is panning out exactly how I said it would.

I've literally been saying ALL they have left is 2-3 songs.

You've been hoping for a new album.

Slash has finally admitted it's all leftovers, and it's probably going to be a couple of songs.

Everyone laughs at me?

Days/weeks/months/years go by of no new songs other than the ones I say he's going to put out - and you laugh at me?

When he puts out Atlas Shrugged, people are gonna laugh at the prospect of Zodiac, Elvis, Soulmonster, Seven etc actually existing.

No, I don't take that literal, I interpret it as "Axl has recorded much more than what most people are aware of".
