Notes:  Under the name Fargin Bastydges. Axl: I hope you know where you are. I hope you know what you need. “Welcome to the jungle”, baby. Duff’s brother Matt and his two friends joined them on stage with their horns. Matt played the trombone for an extra-long version of the “Move to the City” with a jam at the end.

May 31, 1988 - Spokane, WA

May 31, 2006 - Budapest, Hungary

Notes: The band hit the stage after nearly a 3 hour delay, apparently due to Axl being late. About 800 hundred nervous people went home from the show before the band started, after they asked their money back from the checkouts. Axl apologized for the delay. There was no Axl rant as usual, just a very few sentences between songs. He didn't even introduce the band as usual, just Ron (as Mr. Bumblefoot) before his 1st solo, and maybe Tommy. Lots of solos, maybe due to Axl's backache. During 'Better,' Robin Finck smashed his guitar and goes off stage, when he got angry on something. Then Axl followed him to bring him back on stage. After the Jam Axl said they like to entertain themselves. Again, Ron jams on 'Don't Cry' during his guitar solo before 'Paradise City.'

June 1, 1988 - Seattle, WA

Notes: A cool homecoming show for Duff. Axl mentions that 'Sweet Child O' Mine' is their new video. Either Slash or Izzy plays a bit of Van Halen's 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love' during introductions. Axl recounts playing the Gorilla Gardens a few years ago and they the best pot is in Seattle. He also says that he started writing 'Welcome To The Jungle' while he was in Seattle. 'Nightrain' wins out when Axl asks the crowd to vote for it or 'Paradise City.'

June 5, 1991 - Richfield, OH (2nd show)

Notes: Slash had to pay $1000 for opening the show with 'Nightrain.' Axl mentions how he feels great and recounts a story of him smoking opium on an airplane with Sebastian Bach. Axl says that without the music of Nine Inch Nails he would have overdosed on drugs and died. 'Knockin' On Heavens Door' is dedicated to a Cleveland fan who died and was buried with a GN'R t-shirt on. Axl asks the people in the front row how much they paid for their tickets, to which they reply $125. Then he goes off on ticket scalpers.

The band brings out friend Tim Doyle to play bongos on 'Used To Love Her.' Axl sings part of the lyrics to 'Imagine' during 'Patience.' Axl sings a rhyme and the band goes straight into 'Paradise City' to close out the set.

June 6, 1992: Guns N' Roses' "November Rain" video debuts on MTV. The 9-minute epic is the most expensive video ever made to this point, costing $1.5 million. Much of the budget was spent constructing a church in the desert in New Mexico, so Slash could solo in front of it.

In July 2018, it became the first video made before YouTube's founding to surpass one billion views, as well as the first music video from the 1990s to hit over a billion YouTube streams.

June 6, 1992 - Paris, France

Notes: Soundcheck was held the day before. This was broadcast on worldwide TV as Pay-Per-View and also on FM radio stations. Axl goes off on Warren Beatty because he hooked up with Stephanie Seymour. Special guest performances by Lenny Kravitz, Steven Tyler & Joe Perry. Jeff Beck was also scheduled to play Locomotive but he canceled out because of problems with his hearing.

June 7, 1991 - Toronto, Canada (1st Night)

Notes:  Special guest performance by Sebastian Bach. Rare performance of 'Back Off Bitch,' which Axl says was written in 1981. Axl mentions how when they toured through Toronto in the past with The Cult & Iron Maiden that AFD was banned so the audience didn't know most of the songs. Axl says that Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy took the place of hid father when he was little. Then he says how Slash had to pay the band $1000 the other night to open the show with 'Nightrain.' Before 'Estranged,' Axl lets the audience know that the last train leaving the venue is in 5 minutes!

Photos are from 1st or 2nd show.

June 8, 1991 -  Toronto, Canada (2nd Night)

Notes:Axl says how tonight's crowd is much better than last night's (6.7). Axl mentions that 4 years ago he wanted the band to play 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' because he wanted his generation to hear it. A rare performance of 'Welcome To The Jungle' as the last song. The tour was still early at this point and GN'R was still experimenting with their set. At some point during the show, a fan jumps on stage and charges toward Axl. Security holds down the fan and Axl stomps on him twice before he is dragged off.

Forgot how rough Tommy looked during the end of his tenure with Guns N' Roses. Dude was drinking like a fish. According to certain "insiders" who had message boards at the time, his constant drunkenness and his attitude were drinking where constant issues when he was in the band; or at least from 2006 onwards.

I worked at a ticketing company that ticketed the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta the year The Replacements played. I got to hang out backstage for a few different bands, including The Replacements. Tommy was so wasted he could barely stand, and there was genuine concern he might not be able to play. To his credit, ten minutes before showtime, he shot up from a couch, had some water, and strapped on his bass.

When I saw him earlier this year at the meet & greet before a solo show, he seemed in a much better place (although he managed to down a few shots ;) )

June 9, 1988 - Irvine, Ca (2nd Night)

set: Marseilles, It's So Easy

Notes: GN'R, minus Axl and with Duff on vocals, play these 2 songs to make it up to the fans for cancelling out on the rest of the tour with Iron Maiden. 'Marseilles' was originally done by Angel City. Most people mistaken 'Marseilles' for the Kiss song 'Nothin To Lose.' During one of the Irvine shows, Slash, Steven & LA Guns join Maiden on stage to sing on the chorus of "Heaven Can Wait."

June 9, 2006 - Dublin, Ireland

Notes: The band were scheduled, and arrived, onstage at 9pm sharp. While Robin played the opening riff to 'Welcome To The Jungle' Axl surveyed the crowd and remarked that it was 'the rock show' before smiling and nodding. Axl looked in extremely good form throughout, and before 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door, he picked up an Irish flag and wore it around his neck while singing the song. He also called the crowd 'crazy Irish motherfuckers' and started saying he was melting in the sun and wasnt used to performing in the sunlight. Axl also messed up the words at the start of 'The Blues.' The majority of the crowd didnt seem to know any new material, and stayed quiet while the newer songs where being played. The crowd sang along to both Robin & Richard's 'Beautiful' solo and Ron's 'Don't Cry' solo. Sebastian Bach was brought on for a performance of 'My Michelle' and remarked that Dublin was a town that certainly knew how to drink. The band performed until 11pm, and had to cut their set short, saying that they hadn't time to perform a song (most likely I.R.S.) before performing 'Paradise City.' At the end of the evening Axl said they told him he wasnt allowed to do this, but that Ireland had been so great to him he would, and brought out the band for a bow.

June 10, 1991 - Saratoga Springs, NY

Notes: Special guest performance by Sebastian Bach. Axl announces that it is a "very sad day" because Poison broke up that day. Rare performance of Dead Horse during the summer '91 leg of the UYI tour. Axl leads the crowd in a "Get In The Ring" chant that is recorded and used on the song. He also says that they finished recording the song the night before in Toronto.

I was at the Saratoga ‘91 show! Get in the ring! I remember Slash riding a bmx bike onto the stage during Skid Row, and Axl telling us Poison broke up… lots of other things. My buddies and I managed to get busted for underage drinking in the parking lot… my one buddy got a ticket because he was 21 and “supplied” us with beer… good times!

June 11, 1991 - Hershey, PA

Notes: 'Double Talkin' Jive' is played early so Axl can vent off his frustrations. One of the few shows when 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' was not played. During the show, when Duff is shaking hands with the crowd, an audience member cuts Duff's hand with a razor blade. Axl asks the crowd to point out the audience member so he can kick his ass.

Notes: Axl goes off on Izzy again before 'Double Talkin' Jive.' Axl criticizes MTV for calling them a "pop" band. Blind Melon, the original opening band, failed to pass through customs because of illegal narcotics discovered in their possession. A Swedish band, Red Fun, took their place.

Duff actually looks pretty fit in that pic from '93, I've seen pics from around that time where he looks terrible.

Yes, he has been very bloated in that time due his adicctions.
