1. Do you have any pets?

Two huge cats (Maine Coons) and two bunnies. I've also had rats for about 15 years. If we ever have the space the Mrs would like having goats or chickens. I just want a dog. But only if we have enough time for it.

2. What's the coolest place you've ever travelled to?

So many places for so many reasons. The Canadian Rockies were just mindblowing, as was Yellowstone. I'll forever be in love with Scotland too. But man, Slovenia (Bled, Piran), Zakynthos in Greece, London, Berlin, the French Alps... So much beauty!

3. What's your favourite drink?

Whisky. Especially single malt Scotch. But I love craft beer and fine wine as well.

4. Most interesting thing you've eaten?

Probably Haggis. I was so scared to try it, but I absolutely loved it. Delicious stuff!

5. If you could look like another person, who would it be?

Can I just be a hot chick for a day and masturbate my brains out? I'm actually quite content with my undoubtedly flawed looks.

6. Favourite piece of art or poetry?

My favorite pieces of art are music. When I was 13 we had a school trip to an art museum that happened to have an exposition of pee-sex pictures at the time. Having to hear your teacher spend 10 minutes explaining how artsy the picture of the woman peeing in the guys mouth is, is just... traumatizing.

But since then I did find out that I quite like things like Van Gogh, Escher, Dali... And photography really.

7. Do you practise any sports?

At the moment it's mainly running. And not as much as I'd like. Played football for years and I also did a lot of inline skating as a hobby. I miss that. Some long tours ice skating occasionally. If weather permits..

8. What's your dream place to visit?

Again, so many. I'm planning trips to Iceland, the national parks in Utah/Nevada/Arizona, a trip through California, one in Norway. Many places to go.

9. What's your proudest accomplishment?

Generally just working to where I am now, on my own. Finishing uni, my job, our house etc. Nothing handed, everything earned.

10. What's the one thing you'd want to change in your life?

Winning the lottery would be nice. Mildly more realistic I wouldn't mind a bigger house with a fair bit of land around it, but still close to the city (10 km max).

1. Do you have any pets?

2 dachshunds, a bearded dragon, and an Amazon parrot

2. What's the coolest place you've ever travelled to?

So many choices. For rural, it's gotta be Norway - nothing more beautiful than being up in the mountains there. For urban, probably either St. Petersburg or Istanbul.

3. What's your favourite drink?

Beer.

4. Most interesting thing you've eaten?

I love exotic meats. Most interesting is probably either Ostrich or Kangaroo.

5. If you could look like another person, who would it be?

:shrugs:

6. Favourite piece of art or poetry?

I'm really not up to snuff on poetry or art. So I'll go ahead and say the painting of the two lesbians in Grand Budapest Hotel.

7. Do you practise any sports?

Bowling

8. What's your dream place to visit?

Again, so many choices. China is high on my list and I'll be crossing that off next year. Others I REALLY want to get to are Australia, Iceland, and Cuba.

9. What's your proudest accomplishment?

Probably just how much of the world I've managed to see at my age.

10. What's the one thing you'd want to change in your life?

Wish I were more outgoing.

9. What's your proudest accomplishment? I'd like to say my daughters, but I feel only partly responsible for how they have turned out so far. Probably choosing to found my own company rather than take an offered post doc position, and then hanging in there in the valley of death when things were bleak, and now reaching some important market achievment and getting recognition for it. Also fixing the fucking Polish piece of shit automatic garage door.
10. What's the one thing you'd want to change in your life? The inevitable slumbering march forward towards old age and death.

Or the crater of El Chichon Volcano in the south of Mexico, there's a huge, green, bubbling lake of acid in the middle of it, and it's so remote, it took us three days of travelling to get there (including the hardest climb I have ever had to do, in the dark and in 35 degree heat).

I watched the Disney film Fantasia and the visualisation to the Rite of Spring was the formation of the earth, lots of volcanoes. My parents noticed that I would keep asking to see that bit again and again, so my Dad started taping documentaries about volcanoes off the TV for me, and from that moment on, I was more-or-less hooked. I have memories of making a volcano out of chairs in my parents' first house.

I can't remember if I've ever filled this out or not...

Regardless, you folks probably know far too much about me the way that it is!

A really decent guy with a few neuroses and lack of self-esteem who has finally started to get some of the love and happiness that destiny really owed you after years of being mistreated? And yeah, an unaware gay.
