I think he'd like to. I mean, I don't have any insight into the man's thought processes (obviously), but he's a musician and a generally creative person, so when he says that more music will be released in the future, I believe that that's his intention.

Whether or not it will happen, though, is a different matter. He seems to be a perfectionist, and reminds me of an artist I know, who creates these brilliant paintings but will never put them up for display, let alone sale, because in his mind he can always do better.

I do realize. But then what? A reunion is not gonna happen either. Is Axl´s only plan South American/Vegas shows from time to time? He can´t keep doing that forever either. The real problem is that Axl has to make up his mind about his future once and for all.

OT: Yep, I do think he's sincere and WANTS to release new music but it's unclear what the holdup is. It could be the record company, the constant tinkering to make sure it's just right when it goes out the door. OR it could be some sort of new age reason where it will only be a success when released when certain stars are aligned.

Fuck a reunion.

Axl is going to tour the hits he wrote with the real band until he retires. Hopefully, Axl is going to live another 30 years but you, as a fan, only have around 5 o 7 years before he goes MIA again until you find out on the internet that he died in his mansion.

It's sad yes, but it's what I think is going to happen. Axl is old and Chinese Democracy reception was a failure to him. He's not going to try any harder and, he doesn't have to. Being completely fair to Axl, he once proved he was one of the greatest frontmen in the world. What else does he need?

Somehow I doubt Axl sees Chinese Democracy as a failure. He's not stupid, I'm sure he realises it's not 1992 anymore. That doesn't mean to say he wasn't disappointed by certain aspects of the albums release, but on the whole, after 4 years of touring behind the record, I would guess he was fairly proud of how well the CD material integrated alongside the older material in the live shows.

I think he doesn't want to put out another record until he feels like he's ready to begin that cycle all over again. I do think it'll happen eventually. Remember, so many folks said Chinese would never come out, but it did.

I don't even think he cares. Maybe someday he'll be happy with what he's done and release something ... far away from now.

If he really were this songwriting genius some people here claim him to be, he wouldn't need over a decade to release new music

I think you're very, very wrong. You don't think Axl is serious when he says he's seriously looking into it? that he would love to release more music? that he always considered Chinese to be a double? so why would he say those things? he proved he doesn't like to get people hoping anymore after what he said before Chinese was released and fans were mad as fuck about it. Nah... I think he's just late as usual, but that doesn't mean you won't see another GNR album released in Axl's lifetime. That's overreacting imo.

I don't believe for a second Axl will release just half of the work, it's not his style. It is his style though to be late as fuck to everything. Don't lose patience.

Do I think Axl is serious when he says it? Yes. I think he absolutely believes what he's saying. When I say that I don't think we'll get another album in his lifetime, I'm not saying I'm angry or that I don't believe Axl or anything like that. I'm just saying how I think things will go down based on my own view of things. I don't even think CD is the album Axl wanted to release. I love it personally, but had I don't think it's the album that would have been released if the skwerl leaks hadn't happened.

I think the guy's glorious destiny has turned to shit, all the guys that might have been able to really make a go of a post Slash GNR left years ago and he's left with the D team.

Is he going to release CHINESE DEMOCRACY II with Buckethead (who left over a decade ago) on it or is he going to have it rerecorded, inevitably making it sound like shit? etc etc

I think he's in a really awkward position, where he really should just scrap the whole "New GNR" disaster and get the old band back together.
