I'm off to BST Hyde Park again this Friday to see Billy Joel for a second time!

Billy Joel ruled when I saw him in 2019, so I can't wait.

Extremely jealous! He's easily #1 on my "Never seen, want to see" list! Such a shame that Hyde Park is the only EU show he's doing. :(

Should be a hoot. Blackie sounds amazing so can't wait to rock. Love Wild child.

Okay looks like one hell of a stage show, but can you tell me who this band is?

I don't think I"ve ever seen them unless I can't recognize them.

Thanks.

Yay! Bombino got announced on 27 October for my home city. Definitely going to see him again. He's been called the Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara. Very hypnotic guitar music with traditional African influences. Sings in his native language.

Check him out and give him a chance!

Well, just read that W.A.S.P. has cancelled their tour due to Blackie 's bad back injuries. Damn it wanted to see them.

Madonna has pushed back her concert schedule until hopefully she gets better.

Syn Gates from A7X hurt his leg during a concert the other night. He went backstage and they wrapped his leg but he played the rest of the concert behind the stage. The band didn't do any encore. No new as to him yet.

Asking Alexandria 's drummer broke his foot in 3 places. Had to cancel the European tour. Hopefully his leg will be healed by September. I have VIP tickets to meet the band too.

A lot of bands have cancelled due to illness too.

I have tons of shows this fall I really hope no one else cancells.

No, I haven't! But I'mm adding him to my "to check out" list now. :D

I'm no expert on the genre, but Bombino juck clicked for me. People told me to check out Tinariwen as well, but that didn't work for me the way Bombino did. So it's a bit hit and miss. It's interesting how all of those are from the Tuareg / "desert blues" world.

dude, yes. caught him yesterday at pitchfork fest and i think it was my 5th time seeing him? he's playing here in nyc at a free show in central park on saturday too. he's so, so good. legit think he's one of the best guitarists you can see live right now.

edit: @username thanks for the shout on bombino, been a fan of mdou moctar and some of the other acts in that scene for a while but hadn't checked him out before, enjoying for sure

Got tickets to see The Struts in November :headbang:

The Struts new album is supposedly coming out in November, hopefully I'll hear a bunch of new songs. Pretty Vicious (the title track) is the best song they've released so far, and they've only released a live version.

Found out Mac Saturn are opening for them. They're pretty good, I saw them open for Dirty Honey last year. Really looking forward to this show...

22nd of May - Rammstein, Vilnius (first time seeing them)
8th of June - Rammstein, Munich Olympiastadion
13th of June - Iron Maiden, Krakow
26th of June - The Warning, London
27th of June - Guns N' Roses, Glasgow
30th of June - Guns N' Roses, London, Hyde Park
4th of July - Nile Rodgers & Chic, London
6th of July - Bruce Springsteen, London, Hyde Park
7th of July - Billy Joel, London, Hyde Park
8th of July - Bruce Springsteen, London, Hyde Park
13th of July - Guns N' Roses, Paris
16th of July - Guns N' Roses, Bucharest
22nd of July - Rammstein, Paris

Done for the year (with the exception of a small Yann Tiersen gig in Liverpool in a few weeks).

Rammstein can't be beat when it comes to pyro etc., epic stadium show (first time was GA, second was seated, third was FEUERZONE)

Maiden coming out with the deep cuts (at the expense of crowdpleasers, leading to a dead audience at times)

Nile Rodgers always fun

The Warning were a blast in a small venue

Springsteen good as always but less variation in his setlist on this tour between gigs

Billy Joel a lot of fun (audience interaction, jokes, etc.), also surprise Joe Jonas appearance :P

Went to Billy Joel after hearing @downzy singing his praises and he did not disappoint, a really fun performer.

Was my fifth and sixth time seeing Springsteen. My first show was Wembley Stadium 2013 and I was spoilt as I got my favourite of his albums, Darkness on the Edge of Town, from start to finish, along with about 20 other songs. Second was the Olympic Park gig just two weeks later where he played all of Born in the USA, and third was Rock in Rio in September that year. At my fourth show at Wembley in 2016 I got three songs I really wanted to hear: The River, American Skin, Because the Night.

This year, though, it seems he doesn't mix up the setlists as much? Between the two Hyde Park shows this year I think there were just four songs different? Still great concerts, and brought @Dazey along with me to the second to experience his first ever Springsteen gig :)

Joel is my #1 artist I want to see that I haven't seen before. Sadly the Hyde Park show was his only EU one this year. :(

I saw Springsteen earlier this year in Amsterdam and yeah, the set is more set than it used to be. In 2013 (I think) he was still playing a random full album every night on top of doing sign requests. But it's Springsteen so I forgive him.

By the way! I ordered the full Amsterdam show I went to on physical cd through https://live.brucespringsteen.net/catalog.aspx I wanted to do this earlier, but the other shows I saw between 2008 and 2013 aren't available there (yet). I was very pleasently surprised about the quality of it all. Really great recording of the actual concert I was at. You might want to order one or more you saw as well. ;) Or maybe some of the earlier shows you attended. He's working on expanding the back catalogue. I really love when artists do this stuff. :)

Is there a timeline on the 2013 shows becoming available? Would like to pick up at least my first show (the first London show that year), along with maybe the second London gig, good mix of songs between the two.
