Incidentally, I'm a fan of Axl's current look too. The "Rock N' Roll Royalty/Elder Statesman"-look suits him well IMHO. Looks good and looks really like a boss. Maybe he can't grow his hair long anymore because the ends are breaking. At least I can imagine. When I was 16, I could easily grow my hair out. At 33 it's not so easy anymore (at least for me), because the hair is quickly damaged and always has to be trimmed. Who knows. It also was pretty obvious that it was a move to conceal a receding hairline/hair transplant that everyone at time had ripped him for. But the rest of him was spot on. War braids, like he was going into battle on that stage and still had something to prove so 2006 beast mode Axl by a mile. Could be a different show, of course. But I think he wasn't wearing bandana as much in the '02 North America leg.
