I’ll just be on my way! Carry on! It’s AWESOME that slash (playing no gnr songs) can pull in 15k people a night. 16 hours ago, janrichmond said: you can see that they had a lot of fun playing, very different to GNR Yeah that's the big difference with SMKC.
janrichmond
7 hours ago, IzzysMissy said: Slash without GNR pulls in between 1000-3000 a night as an average depending on the size of the market. He also gets a smaller guarantee than most people think and takes the door deal. His VIP programs do well for ancillary income. Anyone who thinks slash can pull an arena crowd solo is completely delusional. The small arenas/amps he plays aren’t expensive shows and have a super low break even point for the promoter/venue so if the deal makes sense, he’ll be booked there. Duff gets booked at 500-1000 type clubs. SMKC played the 02 Arena Wembley on Friday which is roughly 12,500 and it looked packed out. His previous London show was the Brixton Academy which holds just under 5,000 was sold out. His shows always sell well in England
Popular Post Spoon87
What the fuck. That was perfect. An absolute demonstration of Force, Power and being the Guitar God. I'm a bit lost for words. Anybody who says that Slash has lost "it" should go and suck whatever he or she wants to suck.
Popular Post SAU3R
On my way home from the show and I have to say it was A LOT better than I expected. Band was great (Myles included, even though I’m usually not his biggest fan). The crowd seemed very into it although the older songs were received better than the 4 stuff. Slash was awesome! My favorites were Driving Rain, Back from Cali, Starlight, Dr Alibi, Bad Apples, WOF and Rocket man. I’d definitely go and see them again. Thierry1982
Recorded the show on audio yesterday. Pretty good show, thought Slash was sloppy here and there. I don't care for those ultra long guitar solos either. BTW Myles is my favorite singer, he sounded awesome. The cover of Rocket Man was the highlight of the night for me.
Popular Post Free Bird
I loved it. Thought the sound of the first few songs were a little bit muddy but that got fixed and the band is like a good oiled machine just running and running, delivering an intense 2 hours rock show full of energy. It’s crazy how critical they’re viewed on this forum but how they’re able to rock the crowd with basically almost own songs, including mosh pits and singalongs. My personal highlight was Wicked Stone, which was very well received by everyone around me. The little blues part he worked into WS’s solo was phenomenal. Starting as a slow blues number, getting faster and faster until it morphed into some kind of a metal tune. I thought it might contained some elements of Metal Chestnut. Would be great. Myles shined on Rocket Man which was very well received by the audience as well. I still prefer Slash on guitar, though Edited April 9 by Free Bird

I don’t doubt she does and her information may be valid in the market she’s responsible for. But the numbers of past and current tours here in Europe are telling a different story.

I preferred the earliest incarnations of their touring before the GNR reunion when that was the only way to hear Slash play them (still stand by musically his band sounds more like GNR playing the songs than the band that tours with the name) but I have mad respect for Slash that he actually worked to make this a real band with it's own identity outside of the GNR covers like it was in the beginning. It would have been quite easy to lean on the GNR hits in perpetuity salting in his SMKC stuff. The band stands on it's own merits though with it's own catalog and most of the people going to these shows know that at this point and still go. I always thought for better or worse had Axl taken this approach to his solo stuff he might have had a much better go of it with far less of the negativity that ultimately consumed him and what he was doing. SMKC basically playing whole shows of a great majority their own material is walking the walk of being a real band in name and practice. Compared to how easy it would be to keep churning through Slash's hits instead of leaning on their own material I couldn't have more respect for the guy and the band as a whole.

It was like a 9 out of 10 performance! Top gig amazing experience
GNRmello77
It was the first time for me seeing this band, i never went because they played GN'R songs and i didn't like Myles singing them before the reunion lol. But they really blew me away, I want to go again next time around. Todd singing don't damn me is a different story tho, he did it justice Edited April 12 by GNRmello77

I don't know, but I just want to say that the Conspirators shirt with the skull with a helmet on is one of the best band shirts quality wise I've bought in years. The fabric and the colors are so good, very well done.

Popular Post JasmineSwe
Alright, a little review of the Copenhagen show: It was my first SMKC show, and I got extra excited when I saw they were playing at KB Hallen, a small sports arena with a capacity of only 4900 visitors. I figured the stage would be low and the rail close to the stage, which turned out to be the case. I got a spot at the second row behind the rail and the view was ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT. It was a bit unreal to see Slash 2-3 meters in front of me A few weeks ago I posted here that I'd keep an open mind about Myles Kennedy as a front man, as he seemed a bit lethargic in video clips. He is obviously a very skilled singer, but I think he lacks the charisma, attitude and grit a front man in a rock band should have. His mellow style was better suited for slower songs like Starlight, Bent to Fly and Rocket Man. But I have to give him that he had a lot of eye contact with the audience, and the segment where he asked the crowd to show pictures of their pets during Fill My World was fun. He walked around and pointed at several people's phones and made comments, he could actually see the pictures shown to him by the crowd in the front as the stage was so low and close (he liked my dog ). Todd Kerns has a hell of a stage presence though, and his vocals on Always on the Run, Doctor Alibi and Don't Damn Me were excellent. He really is a great performer. He also happens to be very attractive and has amazing hair (side note). All in all, the show had a good tempo, the crowd was mostly enthusiastic and I think the small venue created a good atmosphere. It was a great night!
