Because if this band is known for anything, it's definitely for learning from their mistakes.

Yeah, some people here seem to be much more hopeful about the band than they deserve at this point in my opinion.

People want to believe that GnR is an active band that's hungry for success and has a desire to release new music for the sake of it. It's not. It's a legacy touring act.

The new music is nice and a great bonus. I'm pumped to hear Perhaps and I general-ly hope there are more Chinese leftovers to come. It's fun to be excited and to know that a new song is around the corner. But new GnR music is the last thing anyone should be stressed about. It's not important to the band and it shouldn't be something that's worth getting up in arms about for fans.

It is in the band's destiny to mess up any promo opportunity so that they can release the song like a wet fart with nobody caring.

They could do promo for months for a new song or album and nobody will care.

No one outside of this community and small group of people, who would find it anyways,  cares about new GNR music in 2023.  GNR is a legacy touring act and people go to shows to see Axl and Slash play the hits and relive their youth

Wish Slash had the balls to tell Axl they either release/record stuff or he's out again. He's the only one in the band who could stand to him, Axl knows without him again he's fucked.

That version of Slash doesn't exist anymore.

Thanks for the information.

Difference now is Guns isn’t Slash’s primary vehicle for releasing new music and creative output.

He likely enjoys GnR for what it is: playing live, pleasing fans, and paying for Perla’s lifestyle.

Shannon Gunns on Ozzys boneyard just mentioned the show in Hershey tonight, then said the band “released” a new song today, but she was “sticking with the classics” and played Brownstone 🤦‍♂️

And yet people are still saying the August 11th date meant nothing.

It was clearly supposed to be out today.

He has the Perla moneys to pay…. Slash will do as he is told.

Or the rock news outlets are using this forum as the original source. They don't know shit. They're just as clueless as casual fans are.

I think there’s constant industry and internal rumblings. SiriusXM said they’ll be releasing a new song “in a few days” over a week ago, before any of this. Their tour manager said “any day now” a month ago. Duff and Slash seemed to think it was basically imminent in various interviews they’ve done. It seems like everyone and their mother believes it’s an inevitability, yet week after week we find ourselves in this same spot. We can all fool ourselves and say it’s coming August 18th, but really, it’s likely just going to get postponed again, and again, and again, like Groundhog Day.
