Sure, Chinese Democracy is a great album and the current band is cool, but I just think that he could've done so much more. Things he has done post 1993, could've been done under the moniker of Axl Rose. I just don't get it. It's kind of sad in a way. surforia Posted February 19, 2014 Share Posted February 19, 2014 I'm going to one show (6/7)... my boys and I go to vegas every year (11 years running) and this year it coincides with the residency. People need to get over this "Vegas Residency = doomsday for the band" scenario. One day ("soon" or otherwise), we will hear new music from Axl. Why does everyone care what the media thinks of the band nowadays? To me, music is personal and I could give a crap what people on Metal Sludge think. It wasn't that long ago, before ChiDem, was released ('03 - '06), that most of us were hoping for any word that the band was even active. I'm just glad we have an active (albeit touring) band. When Gn'R tours, we get to hear comments from the band, stories of Axl biting security guards and crazy stories about strip club incidents - I love it!I wanna hear new music (and the unreleased ChiDem stuff) just as much as everyone else, but for everyone bashing these shows, I can tell you that it's going to be a blast... Nothing like drinking a few whiskeys, shooting some dice, hanging out with some cool people and then going to listen to some of your favorite music live. They've already opened up the presale to anyone that visits their page.It's highly unlikely Gn'R sells all 36,000 tickets or whatever the exact number is. The shows will be full though as casinos give a lot of these tickets away to big spending gamblers. The Hard Rock makes money from people gambling and staying in their hotel, not by selling $50 Gn'R tickets. Giving them away means there will be a good mix of die-hard fans and casual ones who were given the tickets for free. I can see why someone who is flying in would wanna buy these tickets in advance as opposed to getting them for half price on the day of the show from Craigslist.
