Yeah I honestly think the setlist should be the 2016 NA setlist length again. May not make a huge difference for his voice but could give him a little bit of rest. This is where so fine being in the set and having duff sing it could help him out as well. Not trying to make this an izzy rant but if he was around, he could sing lead on a couple of songs as well. MrMojo Posted June 1, 2018 Share Posted June 1, 2018 I'm not going to criticize but I will say this. I know he is older, wear and tear etc and some songs may come across flat due to how they're sang. The range and power is still there (Axl with AC/DC and on the NITL TOUR for a lot of 2016) but obviously can't be utilized at full power every night. I would drop songs from time to time, make the set 2 hours or 2 hours 10 and I think the concert would be better. Dropping YCBM, Better, This I Love and Coma (All of which I love) would do no harm. Cause ACDC fans are coming to see an ACDC class show. I've been in a couple of those Axl/DC european shows and trust me fans were ready to leave at any moment. But he kicked ass and gained respect among rednecks of ACDC. GNR shows on the other hand is his home where he feels so comfortable that he does whatever the fuck he wants. Cause fans will be there anyway... He can pee on stage and crowd goes crazy. He farts and crowd goes crazy... For GNR fans just seeing Axl seems to be fine and worth the ticket money. Top vocal performance is a bonus! For DC fans top vocals is a must. No farting is allowed as a guest in some else' home. I know that age doesn't go backwards, but considering Axl/DC and 2016 weren't that long ago, and 57 isn't THAT old, I still think that Axl can give great vocals. He can screw up YCBM and a couple others but let’s atleast get 70% of the show sounding good. There wasn’t as much cracking, because he didn’t even go for most of the rasp notes. Listen to the end of sweet child.. the jungle verses.. I couldn’t listen to much more.
