No, former members have been given writing credits for Hard Skool.

We also know Axl owns the material written by former band members. I recall Tommy Stinson mentioning one of his songs stuck in such a situation, and we know Chris Pitman sued on unpaid wages on work done, which suggests an employer-employee relationship. It just makes legal sense that Axl required ownership of any material written by band members who were employees.

Time to close this thread? There is no new album coming in the near future, this is all but confirmed. Hanging onto the belief they'll just drop an album out of nowhere, despite never having done that in their entire careers is beyond a dream. Let's close this thread and start the healing process we all need.

Maybe we should make a different thread with a poll where the users could bet on how many times it has been suggested in this thread that it should be closed.

Why must an album be imminent for us to have a dedicated thread where we can discuss the album Slash said they hoped they would release?

Healing? What are you talking about?

If you think about it, this thread exists exactly because there is no new album. Its purpose is to speculate and discuss the non-existence of an album. Because, if there was an album, there would be a new thread, like, "[Insert album title] coming out [insert date]" as well as tens of other related threads, and this thread would just"close itself."

People are seriously obdurate about this thread. It's like, 'it's not fun for me any more, so no one else shall have fun either'. Yeah, close it down so that "new album" talk can appear in every other, unrelated thread, sure...

What new album? You got info we dont?

All things considered... well, we need this thread. Period. We need it to channel our inner self, which is still hoping for something other than touring. What else is there in GnR-world? When we reach page 1.000 we'll be still here, waiting, hoping, caring ... in a way. When we reach page 2.000, na, I don't wanna think about that. There are still a couple of days left till the end of this century.

This website would be totally dead without this thread and the tour thread.

How about… if they release the album, we agree to shut down the thread?

It would likely be no longer needed, because there would be a thread about CD2 (or whatever) as a whole, in addition to a thread per track on the album. Much like what happened on forums in 2008 when the last GN'R album dropped, in addition to the Village leaks, which is arguably the best thing to have happened in GN'R land since 2008. And for those who say the reunion was better than the Village leaks, I believe we would of had CD2 by now if the reunion had not occurred, or was held off for a few years.

That would have been the perfect timeline for me

2009-2010: CD tour with Robin

2011-2012: CD II + tour

2013-onwards: Reunion

But coulda, woulda, shoulda

This reunion was 14 years late.
