Popular Post James Bond
By far the best set list I've personally seen for Guns post-2016 - maybe even ever. I got a little worried about the potential cuts when Axl said they we're going to truck ahead with no encore, and then they busted out Coma. I guess we really only lost Patience and/or Don't Cry, and I certainly won't complain about that. There Was A Time was a song I figured I'd never hear live again, and to get that along with Madagascar was sublime. Plus the three "new" songs, all the latest set additions. I believe that made for 10 songs I had never seen them perform. Axl looks terrific. His voice aside, there is no denying he is giving 110% of his energy. He's still an amazing frontman. I'd say he's looking less bloated and cracking jokes, but I wouldn't hear the jokes anyways because of how terrible the sound in the Rogers Centre was. Slash, as I mentioned last night, was just on fire. There were moments I could have closed my eyes and thought I was listening to the Slash of the Illusions. I bought the lithograph - all $73 of it. And then the guy at the gate tried to tell me "no banners are allowed inside" which was just peachy. In case it wasn't obvious, I am not a fan of the Rogers Centre. Highlight of the day though was catching up with @Powerage5 after many years. It was great being able to hang out for the day and do the show together. Overall - I'm glad I decided to go. This might very well be my favourite time I've seen the band. 18

They only charged mt $56.50 for the litho (50 + tax). I better go check my receipt since I did buy three (one tour litho, one show litho to keep and one show lithoto hopefully trade for a Pittsburgh one) Edited September 4, 2023 by Drakestar

That was my biggest issue, if any... the levels were off alot of the time and certain aspects could've been louder for sure.
ChristianGNR
What a great performance of Coma. I usually don’t like this song live and it was great 1

The sound was uneven for sure, and dare I say, quiet at some times. I wonder if they are having difficulty mixing in Axl's vocals with the rest of the band and they need the band to be quiter for better dynamics? It was obvious during the beginning and middle of TWAT and the end of Coma. He was also having long conversations about something mic related which you can hear when he yells out near the end of TWAT. When you see him live and you can tell he's trying to hit notes that just don't come out, it's tough because you can see he's reaching his physical limits trying to get there.

Still a better deal than the rather mediocre shirt selection!

When I bought the lithos, they said the truck with the TO shirts hadn’t arrived, but then someone else mentioned the they had some black ones. Now, this morning I see the colour ines in the merch truck. I just wanted to pay shipping etc. Edited September 4, 2023 by Drakestar

Popular Post moreblack
It was a brilliant choice to start with mostly lower range songs. It really allowed him to warm up to his higher register later in the set. What can you say about Slash? He was very good. This kinda ruins future gig reviews for me. I'll see people complain about bad sets and I can only go by the one I saw in person, which was pretty amazing.

My thoughts exactly, the Pretenders seemed far louder most of the time. Still doesn't take away from it being probably my favourite of now 10 shows. moreblack
I didn't get ear fatigue until the acoustic number oddly enough. And my ears aren't ringing today. Pretty happy about that.

Gimpy Hewitt
One thing I noticed at the Saratoga show, they turn down the rest of the band at times so Axl can be heard at weak parts. I will take that over backing tracks all day.

NicoRourke
Axl was quite amazing at the end of TWAT. He's still hitting notes that are quite jaw-dropping
