We know that Axl is pure Micky Mouse but his performance was okay. The timing is good and he nailed the timing of the screams. Shadow Of Your Love was way out of rhythm when Axl sang it but this Hard Skool was okay. I love his Aay Aay during Slash solo Maybe he will getting better and better singing Hard Skool Shadow of your love way out of rhythem???? Are you sure you watched the right show? 😉 No problem with the timing at all.

jip
I think for first time played live they were spot on.Axl tried his best with his clean voice and I’m very satisfied. We all want some rasp here but come on….Nice to hear it love!Hope it stays on the set list

But I'm sure he'll get better at it. I think someone said they were due to play it earlier in the set but Axl had to swap his IEM as there were issues? As for Hard Skool: glad they finally played it and I think it was good enough for a first time. As others said: he's likely to get better, so I'm happy with this. Just a pity this leg is almost over and it will be a while before we see them again. This made me look forward more to Europe next year. I wonder if they'll add more dates. I still haven't decided on a show, as none are close to me and I have to look at what travel works best for me.
Popular Post Swedish
Sounds like it was a great show! Probably one their best setlists since the reunion in my opinion. On Hard Skool: I think the problem for me is that the vocals during the chorus on the studio version really elevates the song for me and thus this live version really makes it obvious that Axl isn't 30 (or 40 for for that matter) anymore. It's great that they played it, I hope they continue to do so, but it was far from a good performance from Axl in my opinion. I found my self chuckling during the outro which is not the response I want to have to my favorite front man of all time debuting a new song. With that said, I think he gave it all he had and I'm really happy that they actually played it.

Axl said that before the song. He had his IEM swapped after Jungle. He had to finish the song without it. He literally ripped it off and threw it across the stage. There was a 2 minute or so hiatus after Jungle while they got the new one hooked up. Edited September 27, 2021 by The Real McCoy
vloors
Maybe like others had said it could be better putting hardskool at the front of the set. Put the songs easier to sing to the back of the set (brownstone, its so easy, absurd, dtj,) Edited September 27, 2021 by vloors

Popular Post The-Jungle83
- Maybe tonight's the night for HS! - Nevermind, maybe next time. - Maybe TONIGHT'S the night? maybe? - Ah no, not tonight either. (Release of song) Ah this doesn't count, it was recorded back in the Cretaceous period with Axl bellowing through a Viking horn and the drums being hammered with a caveman club by a strung-out Genghis Khan dressed like Marie Antoinette. - OK, tonight's DEFINITELY the night, please Axl!! HS live!!! (opening to HS plays) - OHMYGOOOOODDDDDDD!!! MyGNR the following day: - Mehhhh Axl's voice bla bla, Mickey bla bla bla, no rasp bla bla frickin bla. This place sometimes mannnn, this place. Edited September 27, 2021 by The-Jungle83 4 2

jekylhyde
That setlist was pretty damn good! Something for everyone. Based on those videos of Hard Skool, I wish the band writes (or re-tools) songs that can be sung on a lower register. But still, it's cool that they are doing new songs. Also, the shows at this leg look really fun and the whole band seems to be really into it. Good time to be a Gn'R fan!

GS67
If you can get past the lady screaming and singing, this video doesn’t make AXL sound bad at all on the song. Tons better than the first video that was floating around https://www.facebook.com/groups/1776500235915125/permalink/3168443820054086/ Edited September 27, 2021 by GS67

We're waiting on technology to catch up with Axl's vocals. 1
