What the actual fuck?

And if that wasn't bad enough I just realized that his profile picture is the Terminator when it's attempting to smile at a child.

Huuuuge pedo vibes. What the fuck.

@downzy@janrichmond@alfierose@Dazey

It’s the song lyric (allegedly). It’s supposedly about abuse

i hope it’s not though

What song? Lol if that shit is on the general then I'll see myself out.

supposedly, these are the lyrics that some people deciphered from the leaked clip from a few years ago. Which makes no sense because it's says the word "now" twice

Evader was pretty sure of these, but they don’t make much sense to me. I hope they’re wrong, too, but you can make out a lot of similarities in the leak if you try. They could still be quite wrong, though. No disrespect to Evader

{Chorus}
Do you remember who did it?
Who did that to you...
Who would do this to you?
Who would do this to you? To the young!
Who would do that to me, boy?
Up to abuse, in fact you knew them
Who wants to lose?
To lose
Do you?

{Verse}
I've got hopes and dreams, and I must feel bolder
My hopes, my dreams have died
Now I rest my hate in the rumors as they're pushin' through
There's a child now chained to the bed now
To me it's time I'm always workin' and I'm gonna get out
I think it's high time you should fuckin' die, child
I think this time you've broken everything inside
I won't be ever satisfied
This is why, baby, you know I got you

{Chorus}
Do you remember who did it?
Who did, that to you...
Who would do this, to you?
Who would do this to you? To the young!
Who would that to me, boy?
Up to abuse, in fact we knew them
Who wants to lose?
To lose
Do you?

Some of the lyrics Evader came up with seem to fit perfectly. Some of them I can't even hear Axl singing anything in said parts like the "Now I rest my head my hate in the rumors that their pushing through" line. Other parts like the second half of the chorus, I don't think it sounds like Axl is singing different lines like "who wants to lose" or "up to abuse", it just sounds like he's singing "who would do that to you" on repeat.

Atlas was hyped up for years on this forum like it was some masterpiece. And when it finally leaked, it ended up a shit song. Haha I learned my lesson from that, so I’m not expecting to like a song based off of small pieces or a title.

I wouldn’t call it shit, but it was definitely a let down

i don't know if evader's speculated lyrics are correct, but i think what's there has some sort of sense.
sounds like a song about a child that got so abused, that any childhood sense of hopes and dreams and self had to die, and the older version of that person had to emerge with his own hopes and dreams, to keep working and push through life.

Spoiler

Below is how i came to that idea. it's not exactly a rock-solid interpretation, especially since some of the stuff is ambiguous

(Chorus}
Do you remember who did it?
Who did that to you...
Who would do this to you?
Who would do this to you? To the young!
Who would do that to me, boy?
Up to abuse, in fact you knew them
Who wants to lose?
To lose
Do you? -
I think this chorus is rather self-explanatory, but it sets up the idea of an older version of the guy thinking about/talking to his younger self being abused

{Verse}
I've got hopes and dreams, and I must feel bolder <-
In context of the line that comes after it, older person says he's got new hopes and dreams, so he should be feeling more bolder
My hopes, my dreams have died <- Kid saying his hopes and dreams have died
Now I rest my hate in the rumors as they're pushin' through <- not too sure about this line to be honest, Maybe rumours about who's been abusing the boy/man had come out, so now his anger can have slight sense of some peace?
There's a child now chained to the bed now <- blatant child abuse
To me it's time I'm always workin' and I'm gonna get out <- Older guy realises it's time for him to get out of this terrible situation now by constantly working towards something
I think it's high time you should fuckin' die, child <- older guy wants to leave the self of being this abused little child behind
I think this time you've broken everything inside <- child laments that everything about him has broken
I won't be ever satisfied <- child also laments that he won't ever be happy
This is why, baby, you know I got you <- older person saying to his younger self that he's got it handled now

I was only around here starting 2016 and that was already enough time to hear all about the mythical Atlas Shrugged and how epic it is and how it's this big gun song Axl saved for CD2. When I listened to it it just sounded like background music for a commercial to me ffs. A worse Catcher In The Rye, and that already is not that great a song. I'm not gonna get hyped for any song ever again by people who know nothing what it sounds like. You can't tell if you'll like a song until you hear it.

Axl said he wrote a song about child abuse in the 2001 Argentina interview where he revealed the PRL title. Of course Brain had just entered the band a few months prior and I think he said he didn't even meet Axl until 2001. He mentioned Axl asking him about the title The General, so it would appear the song about child abuse was written prior to the instrumental that Brain wrote. But it's certainly possible that Axl took the lyrics and melodies and then superimposed them into the instrumental of The General. In the China exchange he said he prefers to write lyrics and melody first.
