Spaghetti4twenty
If you could go back in time, what’s 5 shows you would’ve loved to see? mine are 1. RIR 91, night 2 (bad apples) 2. Hammerstein Ball Room 06, night 1 3. Osaka 2009 4. The Troubadour 2016 5. Houston 2016 Really any first show after a hiatus would’ve been so great to see. There’s a level of excitement and mystery when you have no exact idea of the lineup, what the setlist is, etc…

Paul Tobias' farewell shows and the last performance of Silkworms for 20 "F'N" years!!! As curious as I am to hear anything from those shows, for me, nothing will top seeing that proshot of the House of Blues for the first time. From start to finish, I don't think Axl has put on a better vocal performance. Given the small stage, it was essentially studio quality vocals for the duration, along with the debut of new tunes and the new lineup. In an ideal world, I'd have been in attendance for the 4 shows in 2001 and I'd have gladly never seen Guns again. Big claim, but I hold that lineup in really high regard.
Popular Post Powderfinger
Anything indoors with the original lineup. That band must have sounded hot as fuck in a club.

HOB was definitely the 'grail' as far as pro-shots, but those December 2001 shows are so intriguing. Small venue shows are the best though, my list would probably be HOB 01, second night at the Joint 01, a couple 86 shows, and one of the acoustic NYC 10 shows.
Tom2112
Hard choice. I'd say rock in Rio 91 followed closely by Osaka 2009

Agreed. My first show was 92 on the Metallica/FNM tour but I can't imagine anything touches that 87 period before they blew up.
megaguns1982
I’d choose the last gig they played before Scom was released as a single…. Right before they blew up

Same here, saw them in 92 and would swap it in a heartbeat for an indoor club gig from 87.
