janrichmond
I really love the outro. I love Slash but I still prefer Peter Green's version vocally.
Amir
Really digging this, probably my favourite thing Slash has put out since World on Fire.
F*ck Fear
It's supposed to be a blues record, right? Other than the fact these are blues standards, they don't sound like the blues. I was totally expecting a more traditional blues sound.

From the beginning Slash said it would be a "Blue Oriented" album. People here started describing it as a Blues album but Slash never said that. It is blues with a Slash hard rock stamp.. That is kind of what Oh Well is anyway... Killing Floor was very much the blues though and pretty true to the vibe of Howlin Wolf. Then there are songs like The Pusher which aren't blues to begin with.
El Guapo
And he did just the right thing with that. Guys like Slash or Bonamassa just can't play authentic blues, it's Blues rock. It's not that easy to do that right without getting into cringe territory (looking at you, Joe B.) 😁

Peter Green for me was the best of the British Blues players, and his playing is so good he’s overlooked vocally, he was just a really soulful musician. I’m glad to have seen him once live. His Fleetwood Mac is the only one that exists for me.
evilfacelessturtle
I don't dislike it, but it's meh. He plays the riff, singer does a verse, repeat and then jam out the end with the same blues licks we've heard him do a million times in his blues jams with GNR. But I'm really not a blues standards guy to begin with. Blues can be great when they actually try to write a song. Most of the time they don't, though. Blues done by Slash....I'm sure there'll be slower bendy type songs to come, these are your rocking blues numbers....Patience Edited April 13 by colonizedmind
BluegrassBlues
Loved it! I'm a huge Chris fan and he and Slash sounded great together, I can't wait for the rest of it to come out. I keep hoping the one with Beth Hart would be released as a single too but it looks like I'm going to have to wait

We know he recorded another video with that hollow body guitar in that bar. If I had to guess I’d say it’s Crossroads with Gary Clarke jr. I can guarantee you it’s not the song with Beth Hart, since that one is 8 min. long. Edit: Someone with knowledge could tell which song would be a good fit for that guitar. @Voodoochild? Popular Post StrangerInThisTown
This comment from Youtube lol: @Nitromessiah 7 hours ago This is one of the worst version of this classic song I've ever heard. Slash wrote 1-3 great licks, and has made an entire career off of it. He's just average at best, but he looks cool doing it. I tried to do some Sherlock work here but I failed hard. You guys are right and this guitar was probably his main guitar for that record. 11 hours ago, StrangerInThisTown said: This comment from Youtube lol: @Nitromessiah 7 hours ago This is one of the worst version of this classic song I've ever heard. AxlRQ93
I think so far this is the best thing he’s done since the early 90s. Or, at worst since ain’t life grand

I can kind of see your point but equally I've always thought Joe did a good job of modernising blues, and his business model seems to work very well (frequently release music, tour regularly, have a live album for every tour etc).

GNRRHCP98
I feel like I’m in the minority, but I personally like “Killing Floor” MUCH more… maybe I have to give this one a couple more listens.
Naupis
https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/12/entertainment/guns-n-roses-slash-fleetwood-mac-chris-stapleton/index.html Slash made the front page of the CNN website. Saw his picture and accompanying acrticle.

Don’t get me wrong, the original is untouchable vocal wise but though Chris sticks close to the original he gives it his own spin. But damn, I really prefer this outro to the slow original one.
Popular Post D..
My favorite thing out of those two tracks is Steven Tyler blasting out his harmonica. So cool, I'm happy he's still doing ok. Other than that, it's cool for what it is, it's a change from what Slash is generally playing, kind of refreshing for sure, but I don't see myself playing this on repeat and certainly not the kind of material strong enough to justify me buying a ticket for a gig. It's like cool little bonus tracks. I don't know whether Slash offered the material to Axl, but I can't picture him singing on these. Not for Guns anyway, doesn't suit the mood. Looking at Slash's setlists, there's not much I'd pay for. If he'd add Back to the moment and Serial Killer, maybe. I'd love to hear those two live, my favorite songs of his. I hope he has far better material for the album. Otherwise, just like what Duff has released, I don't see the point. I don't mean this in a harsh way, it's cool they're still working and touring, sure, but I don't find this exciting. I even feels it diminishes their comeback for an upcoming Gn'R tour. See, as much as a lot of people bash Axl constantly, and the lack of new real music, I enjoy his rarity. When he appears, even if it's something we've heard too many times, it still feels special. I'm not even sure whether I prefer hearing average new songs than no song at all. I'm just like "yeah ok, but what's the point?". And regarding live gigs, if the frontman is Myles Kennedy, I just can't picture myself going through this. I need a charismatic frontman to cope with all the waiting, all these people and the sweat. Sorry, maybe this post feels a bit too negative but just what I feel. They should do a megatour with Axl & Tyler rotating between songs and mixing their material. Or better, Gn'R + Aerosmith, with feats in each show. Who the f wants to watch Myles for 2 hours, frankly? Rant over, sorry, needed to be said. 3 1
