Maynard James Keenan of Tool is mocking Axl on IG

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CyJhSalpeGB/

There is a back story between them. They apparently didn't like each other and Axl reportedly blamed Keenan for Billy Howerdel leaving the CD project for A Perfect Circle.

What an immature weirdo. I'll never understand why people find petty, mean-spirited shit like this funny.

Freese too then. Harassing a guy who's been nothing but nice to him, by his own admission. Creep.

I don't think it's mean-spirited, from Josh Freese at least. He posts weird humorous stuff on his own IG all the time and has always had nice things to say about Axl, at least in public.

I can't say that about MJ Keenan - like I said, he and Axl haven't liked each other, so maybe it is mean-spirited.

For all we know, even Axl gets a chuckle out of videos like that. Whether or not people find it funny isn't the point, Axl running around to the Benny Hill theme is clearly lighthearted.

I don't know Axl (obviously), but I doubt he would find this funny. He surely didn't find the memes with the "fat picture" funny.

This is more lighthearted than the Fat Axl memes, and he appears to be more chill these days. Like @DoMw94 said, if he doesn't find it funny he probably just brushes it off. He doesn't seem as angry as he used to be...

The DMCA notice for the fat picture meme was in 2016, so not too far back.

He may brush it off, but I doubt he laughs it off in the case of memes, videos etc. that make fun of his appearance.

The meme thing in 2016 makes sense because of the timing, but who knows what he thinks about stuff like the Benny Hill videos. Either way, it's weird when people get offended on behalf of someone else.

Judging by how he acts on stage, he knows he looks good now and has confidence. I'd like to think he can see the humour, it's not simply malicious like the fat Axl ones, and he looks good for his age now.

Love Maynard, Tool and APC (literally just saw Tool a couple weeks ago) but Maynard is the last person who should ever be making fun of anybody. He's such a fucking weirdo lol.

Unfortunately I've seen him take shots at more than a few bands and musicians. Which is unfortunate.

Was watching a GN'R songs ranking video, which included unreleased tunes, everything was fine except for a song called 'Save Me' which I've never heard of, it also has a different singer, whom i dont recognise. Anyone know something about this?

Song is at 8:23

I've just finished listening to the last disc from The Village leaks. My God, what a waste. What was Roy Thomas Baker thinking when he told Axl that the album wasn't good enough? The early version of the album with Josh on drums is incredible. I really enjoyed the Tommy/Robin Demo disc as well. Pretty cool to hear the demo of Better!

Was Bob Ezrin who told him he only had two and a half good songs. Shook Axl’s confidence and the label them brought in RTB, and they did a lot of rerecording.

I think the general consensus seems to be the earlier versions of the tracks were far superior. Maybe aside from If The World.

Look at the title track. My god that bass. Twangy and fat and just so upfront. The double snare hits. The shorter intro. Buckets solo is nice though so maybe the ideal version is the 2007 leak, although it doesn't have the slap of the 2001 mixes.

I think having all these different versions ultimately has helped us understand and appreciate the album and era a thousand times more though. Imagine if we just had that album, no leaks. Would there be as many of us here still on the forum?

It was Ezrin, yeah, but he came in when they had already worked with RTB for a few months, so it was the RTB versions that he heard.

Whatever the order of events was, the person was dead wrong

I genuinely loved listening to those CDs, even the instrumentals. The songs from Chinese Democracy in particular, however, are leagues above even the old MSL/Antiquiet leaks.
