Official GNR Social Media Update / Discussion

Recommended Posts

If he is over performing these songs hey release something new or do some rearrangements on these songs to make it a little bit more interesting.

Even chop these songs down from 10 minutes. Trim the fat....

Just a friendly reminder:

With any other band, it might mean "Hey we know the fans are talking about new music. And where's there's smoke, there's fire" meaning that new music is on the way.  With GNR, it probably just me

Well, well, well...

I could not finish that video. No effort at all from anyone in that song. What a drain on my ears.

I can sing in the shitter better than that effort.

its amazing how the band performing this thinks its acceptable and the social media team happily release it LoL cannot get over it.

Are they self sabotaging themselves or what.

Apparently it time they don't post it video in GNR Facebook. Maybe is cause many bad reactons.

Axl cannot be ill from 2018 until 2020 lol its a poor excuse for a unmotivated lazy performer

At least of the videos i saw, it is far the worst.

Where has it come from? The 's' in the top right makes it look as if it was part of a broadcast on somewhere?

Was part of a news report I think. Just saw the clip posted on discord today, I don't know if the full song is out there anywhere...

Axl always surprises us. I’ve heard the same complaint in 2002 and 2016.

At least in 2002, 2014, etc. the argument could still be made that 'he can still sound good when he wants to'. That hasn't been the case for a few years now... I'd like to be proven wrong, but I don't expect him to sound great when he returns.

The new 50 sec leak of Coma from Tokyo 92 kick the fuck out all this shit.

If GnR upload some sneak peak like that in their social media..... the world would explode.

That 50 sec leak sounds okay but it’s just a very tiny segment /sample of a song. In the few lines of Axl singing, some of it sounds like a cat being raped by an elephant.

And besides, what would be the point of uploading these onto the official GnR sites? Like this was how interesting the band was 30 years ago, but now, hmmm...

Ah, thanks. I really hope it is out there in full. What we have sounds great!

Well, if their next release is gonna be a UYI box set, I'd much rather see footage from the UYI tour than from NITL...

Ok but you do understand as time goes on nature takes it's course right? He's approaching 60 years old and his voice has been in free fall since 2016 ...

Theres plenty of singers out there older than Axl and sounding great. They take care of themselves and voice.

Alot of singers also do not tour so endlessly and heavy to save their voices.

Oh and practice/rehearse.

There is also plenty of singers out there older than Axl and sounding worse.

So maybe we can conclude that people age differently? Maybe the voices are different and age differently or some people find it harder to maintain their voices than other people do?

Axl definitely can surprise us. He sounded bad in 2002 and then came back full-on in 06. He sounded bad since 2011 and then came back in 2016 and sounded like a god with AC/DC – which is where he subsequently wrecked his throat. He can sound like he did with GN’R in 2016 again. But the key would be less touring. Just do 4 to 6 shows a month and only tour for a year. Release a recording. Release old footage. Make pauses, take it easy, work on new stuff. You don’t have to tour the whole fucking world for 3 years, playing the same songs at 3+ hour shows. Make shows 1.5 hour long and shuffle the playlist. Use songs that fit your current form.
Oh and hire a proper PR team.
Goddamn it!

Nobody is gonna wanna pay 150€ for a 90mins show. Plus, the fact that his voice is always better at the end of a tour indicates less shows wouldn't solve anything

I disagree, other bands do it, so can Guns. Or it may be a bit cheaper, we don’t need the huge NITL production anymore, do we. His voice doesn’t get better at the end of a tour – his voice gets better after a few shows at the beginning, but it obviously starts getting worse towards the end. Ever since 2006 (I think '07 was a bit weaker), but definitely since 2010. This would help a lot. Thinking the current version is the only way it could be done is deluded. Anything can be changed, it’s just that we’ve been used to certain routines for so long that we think that’s the only option.

Well, the stay at home people might prefer a shorter set. When I'm seeing guns live, I wanna see a full blown 3.5hr show.
