Here until today: 747 infected, deaths 19. Yesterday die an 51 years old man, he just to arrived here few days ago from Spain. He isn't has previous pathology too.

An infant died a few days ago in Illinois. The first baby to die from this virus.

Watched the news today from NYC. The navy ship is there and making hospital tents in Central Park. It seems some stupid people are still jogging and walking their dogs and letting their kids play on the playgrounds. What part of stay inside don't they get?

Over 2828 people have died so far in the US. Over 1000 in New York alone.

They are making a freezer truck be used as a morgue because the morgues are so full. How sad is this?

I'm sure before this virus can be controlled, if it can be controlled, the world will reach a million or more dead.

Stay safe people and stay inside.

It's ok folks, we're saved now

I love the part when he accidentally suggests that it’s ‘satan’ and not God who can provide a vaccine. Lol. And then he visibly pauses and cringes like “darn it, that’s the opposite of what my grift is supposed to say!”

A women wearing a mask and gloves just walked into me as I distanced by walking onto the middle of the road to avoid her. She had to do a 90 degree turn and rush to make this happen. But her car was nearby so just 'fuck me' I guess. WTF is that?!?! When I flipped her off she looked deeply offended, too. :lol:

But straight couples with young children are the worst for feeling entitled to not do their 50/50 part in distancing. Im gonna start carrying a hockey stick and next family that walks directly at me, Dads getting a tap in the five-hole... like from a safe distance. :headbang::lol:

Yeah. It's also so funny (not) when I'm riding my bike on that pathway, which is probably 1,5 m to 2 m wide and the people who walked together can not both stand on one side, so I can pass on the far other. No, one of them stands somewhat to one side, while the other stands somewhat on the other side, so I have to pass in the middle, making it impossible to keep the suggested distance.

Norwegian health authorities say the virus is about twice as infectious as the flu virus and about five times as deadly.

About 900 die from the flu in Norway every year, I belueve. So with no efforts at suppressing covid-19, we should have about 9,000 deaths.

World-wide, about 500,000 die from the flu. If the Norwegian numbers are correct and can be used everywhere, there would be 5 million deaths around the world from covid-19 in 2020.

First time i hear about a kid with Covid 😧 i'm just read in Paris few days ago died a 16 years old girl, she was with cough, but was bad diagnosed for the family Doctor,  then she was hospitalized, but apparently the hospital doctors either realized that her symptom was about the Covid. She died march 26 and her mother and sister can't nor say goodbay.

May be the doctors was confused that she just has 16 years old, then they believe she isn't would be with Corona.

Here today already are 23 deaths, an 50 years old man and a 77 years old woman.

I don't agree.

Here in the States, school will be the last to open. Children, thankfully, are a higher priority than businesses.

In the UK schools were the last to be closed, little over a week ago in fact which now seems utterly bizarre. Just over a week ago you could drop your kids off at school and on the way home stop off at Greggs and que up for a meal deal.

Something doesn't add up about the way this has been dealt with. It's not as if it's been a fucking mystery what would happen. It's been unfolding in other country's weeks before, literally giving us instructions and warnings on what will happen. I wonder if the UK government thought that we were somehow biologically different to Chinese and Itallian people  when it chose to allow Cheltenham horse racing festival attended by 70'000 people at the beginning of March to go ahead.

Yes you read that correctly 70 thousand fucking people. Beyeeen the 10th until 13th March, thats this month! Encouraged to all stand, travel socialise and stay in hotels together. Just over 2 weeks ago. Madness. I'm not fucking buying it. They knew.

And now I'm stuck in my fucking house 24/7 with my missus and child 😁

It is because the United Kingdom was originally following what I suppose can now be called the ''Swedish method'' of basically exposing your young people to it by doing bugger all and creating a nation of immune motherfuckers, however public-media backclash forced the UK government into reversing the decision and imposing the type of lockdowns seen elsewhere. I believe the Dutch were also following this method for awhile. Sweden now, a non-lockdown oasis,

Yes i get the immunity tactic. It makes no sense though. How can you just expose young people to it? Everyone else go about your lives try and stay away from old people. Not much of a tactic was it.

Welcome back by the way, we were all wondering whether you'd remembered us in the will 😁

They probably relied on the fact that the youth of today would rather see old people rot to death alone in their own filth than come off Instagram for 5 minutes and visit them.

I'd rather have AIDS than corona. Am I the only person on mygnr who has had the thing? Surely there is another corona case among you?

I think the idea is you eradicate the disease by arriving with a population where most people 0-50 have had it but are immune, and most people who are old-vulnerable have been shielded and have not had it, but crucially the disease has gone. You basically let the disease - in a controlled manner, shielding vulnerable categories - pass through and out of the population. Boris, or more to the point the scientists, rather abandoned the approach (as did the French) and we are sitting in our houses now like everyone else.

I'm about 90% sure I had it, but I'm not tested. I sure hope I had it though, so that would make me and my family immune.

39,5° fever, a cough (first productive, then dry) that persisted well beyond the fever period, loss of taste.. if it moves like a duck, and it quacks like a duck...

In Norway, only 5 % of those tested with symptoms actually had covid-19. The rest had other illnesses. What you describe could be so many other respiratory illnesses. Hoping you had it, though! And hopefully soon you can get tested to see if you've had it, so you and your family can return to normal.

Doctors here found that in patients with lung damage, often the damage was caused not by the virus, but by an overreaction of the body itself, ie of the immune system. That would explain too why young, healthy people seemed to suffer serious lung damage without being really sick. They get mild covid, they get better, but the immune system overreacts to the virus and causes the lung damage. And younger people have a better immune system than older people, so this phenomenon is more often seen in them than in older people.

It's still a really small minority that has this, but still. Interesting, and worrying, how every day we seem to learn a new aspect about the virus and the disease it causes.

Whether the lung damage will completely heal, we'll have to wait and see.

It's like it is a brand new disease!

But yeah, it is fascinating to be part of this all. And we are fortunate to live in a time with good health care infrastructure and a vaccine being developed. Could have been much worse, we could have been living in the 14th century. Reminds me of this famous Norwegian painting by Theodor Kittelsen of the plague coming to a new farmstead:
