Do you think there's "meaning" behind having Chinese Democracy and Slither played back to back at the shows?

Not really but for Axl and Slash they each represent commitments to each other’s past work.

Slither is wayyy better

It's probably the better known of the 2 songs. I was never a huge fan of the album (and subsequent live versions) of Chinese. Always thought the earlier incarnation of the song was much more direct and hard hitting.

Well right now it's placed between CD and DTJ which are two songs that are easier for Axl to sing. So it's possible that Slither might be tougher for him so they placed it between two easier songs.

But I doubt there was any thought besides that or the tuning of the guitars or whatever

Chinese is in drop D tuning?

Yes and Slither is as well, but Slash changes guitars from his BC Rich to the Black Les Paul anyway

Absolutely. The Village Sessions one with no effects and no overdubs is superb.

I figured they moved Jungle a couple of spots later because they were doing that Rumble intro over the summer and thought it was too early to do a jam/solo as the 4th song? But idk
