Apparently Motley Crüe asked GNR to tour with them

I haven't seen them, but I know people who have. If you like their music, their show is enjoyable. But 'pyro, big choruses and big hits' also applies to bands like Motley lol. Someone like Carrie is supposed to be a left-field choice, she's successful on her own and would bring a different audience, but there's also a connection.

I'd like to see them get 'weird' with the opening bands - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Yelawolf, Foxy Shazam, Jelly Roll, Stop Light Observations, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, there's tons of cool artists they could bring on tour. I've seen 6 shows since 2016 and Alice In Chains opened 4 of them... I like AIC but give me some variety lol.

They did mix it up earlier on with nitl.

I remember seeing skrillex for example.

GNR & Aerosmith should do a co-headline tour. I’m not sure what’s the status of Aerosmith at this point though?  Maybe have Uncle Ted Nugent as the opener, he’s always fun.

Woke Axl and Trumptard Ted on the same tour, a recipe for disaster.

I'm not surprised. Nikki already made it known he's interested last year when he said a GN'R/Motley tour would destroy the world. I have nothing against Motley Crue. I actually like a lot of their songs and own a few of their albums.

That being said, Vince Neil is a gigantic douche and Nikki is a pathological liar. I can't think of anyone that has less integrity than Nikki. He will rewrite history, lie, cheat, manipulate and everything in between. And the craziest part is that when he gets called out on his blatant lies, instead of owning up he goes on the attack and makes it personal while trying to detract attention from the lie that started it all. Insane. Nikki's autobiography is make-believe and so is their movie The Dirt. They're liars through and through. And Tommy is just a little boy in a man's body. The whole Mick Mars saga exposed them for what they are. Greedy, lying and manipulative. I hope GN'R stay away from them.

I like the Dr. Feelgood album, but I would not want to see Motley Cru perform since they aren't performing live. I'm also doubting what Nikki Sixx is saying given the fact that Axl and Vince Neil never  publicly made up. Additionally, you have Crash Diet, which was about Vince killing the drummer of Hanoi Rocks.

Agreed. It hasn't been the same since Church of Rock N Roll imo. Gonzo and then disbanding was a big mistake imo, as they had some amazing momentum in 2012. I saw them 3 times that year and they were a force to be reckoned with. Got to hang out with some of them at the gigs, too. They were really cool dudes at those shows

Their set at Bumbershoot 2012 was one of the best shows I've seen. I can see why people hated Gonzo, it's basically a 180 from what made them successful, but I love that record. It was great to see them gain a bunch of fans with S/T and Church, but they were openly displeased with some of the decisions that came with being on a bigger label, doing bigger tours, etc. If Gonzo had been followed by another Church type of record I think it would be a lot more appreciated, but I can't blame them for going the independent route.

Their newer albums don't have great production, but there's some gems on each album... Dreamscape, Love Like This, The Forbidden Kind...

I'm surprised NO ONE in the comments mentioned that a Motley Crue and GNR Tour would help quash the rivalry between Axl and Vince Neil. 💡😀🤔

They were going to open two shows for The Rolling Stones in 2006, but they were canceled after Keith fell out of the coconut tree.

Yeah but the GN'R of 2006 was a very different beast. You'd never see the current band opening for anyone, including the Stones

Yea they've had some 'odd choices' open 1 or 2 shows (Skrillex, Deftones, etc) but would be cool if they did it for a full tour.

Would be good to through a classic hiphop band in there. Say wutang for example.

Motley just sucks live and diluted their brand with their shit- show of a reunion. I don't think I can name a worse reunion. Playback controversies, Vince Neil sounding consistently unlistenable, and then the coup de grace of them dropping Mick Mars. I have long outgrown Motley Crue but I can see why promoters and Motley Crue would be excited about the prospect of a GNR/Motley co- headlining tour. That would be easy for them to market and most casual fans lump both bands in, together.

It would be way more lucrative for Motley than for GNR, though. Motley is playing a B- tier casino in the middle of Michigan, this summer. That is NuGNR circa 2013-2014 level territory. They need big acts to play the big venues, whereas GNR don't. I could definitely see GNR having Motley as an opening act, but I doubt Motley Crue would allow their egos to accept that.

I could see GNR partnering with another mega- band one day for a co- headlining tour, though. They surely do well in larger markets (the Boston and LA shows I saw in 2023 were pretty packed), but they struggled when I saw them in Detroit in 2021. I don't think they would go for Motley Crue, but a double- bill with the Foo Fighters, Metallicas, AC/DCs, Queen + Adam Lamberts, Aerosmiths of the world for one last stadium jaunt could be possible.

As a big fan of the 80's Hard Rock scene I would die to see two of my ultimate fav bands play together. I don't get the hate towards Crue though. The situation with Mick is complicated, they did offer him more money but he never answered back to their offer - John5 is doing an amazing job-, yes Vince isn't in the best shape that he could be vocally but he's a man in his 60's, his system is full of alcohol and drugs and the matter that he still manages to get his ass on a stage it's great (he's been through a lot you can see the pain is his eyes), don't forget you're the same people who criticize Axl about his voice.

Crue are playing LIVE they do have backing tracks for layering and backing vocals (Kiss, W.A.S.P., Def Leppard etc are doing the same) and yes Nikki is playing live. I saw them last summer with Def Leppard in Prague and it was totally live, you could hear mistakes from Nikki here and there, Tommy did lost some beats too. Overall people had great time as much as the band, that's all that matters.

In conclusion I'm totally in for a GN'R-Crue tour.
