North American Tour Dates Announced

Recommended Posts

I doubt that Smashing Pumpkins will help at all with sales, but, at least it's a good opener, i like them.

So Pumpkins at a few shows.  How bout the rest of the shows?

I was wondering about that too. I wonder why they're only on 6 dates and who will open the other dates.

SP is a bigger name than I thought they'd get. I expected Dirty Honey or the Struts. Is Marilyn Manson up next?

Might’ve sold a ticket to me. I wouldn’t have paid to see the Pumpkins alone and was on the fence for this Guns tour. Much more likely to go now.

Yeah, i mean, it's not like they will sell out because SP, but it's a big name and it should help.

They still release new music if that counts for anything.

And nobody wants to hear it.

Racking my brain to think of viable options for the wrigley show.

Air swing that Pumpkins didn't get announced for Chicago..

I would've actually contemplated flying from the UK for that lineup in that city!

Pumpkins can make their own $ there, why take an opening gig?

680 news Radio in Toronto i listen to on my way home, its an up to the minute news AM station all talk,  every commercial break is the GNR show "the next chapter is about to begin"  "all new show" "its going to be epic"  I never here these ads on that station.

Maybe they'll drop an album pre tour called The Next Chapter!

Because on a good day they can draw maybe 10,000 . Most of these GnR shows will have 30-40,000. Why wouldn't they take the payday?

Smashing Pumpkins are a band I keep wanting to check out and yet EVERY time I miss the show for one reason or another. Billy is from the Chicago area, and a Cubs fan too, so of course there's no Wrigley Field date. DAMN IT.

Billy's last solo record is amazing.

Edit: And the SP EP is very good too. Some bangers on that.

Smashing Pumpkins are my all-time favorite band; even above GN'R. I'm bummed they won't be opening in Atlanta.

it’s probably a radius clause issue with shaky knees

Haven't seen SP in 20 years. Are they washed up?

Saw them last year, for the first time since '94 and I really enjoyed their set. Now that Iha is back it is Smashing Pumpkins.

Like I said a few days ago. 90% of the people that say they aren't going will end up going. Unless they truly aren't live music fans and really wouldn't have went anyway.

I think a lot of people (like myself) will really make up their minds in March, or maybe once the NA tour actually starts.

But skipping this tour has nothing to do with "not being a fan of live music". I'm going to see Sebastian Bach play in a small bar next month and it's gonna be a fucking awesome time! But the ticket prices for GNR, coupled with it likely being a worse performance of the same show I've already seen several times, just doesn't feel "worth it".

If they were actually playing in my city (which will probably never happen, as our arena has a capacity of about 7,500) then I'd probably buy a "cheap" ticket, go with a group of friends, drink beers all day and have a good time. But factor in travel, hotel, and missing work the next day... it's gonna take a lot more than Dead Horse and You're Crazy for me to go see this tour.
