Appetite for Destruction Remastered General Thread

To be honest, having these songs remastered etc is fine but it's weird.

Do you guys remember Michael Jackson's Bad 25? Remastered with a second CD full of demos/unheard stuff. But MJ is dead and Axl/Slash/Duff aren't, so I really don't see the point. It's not even like they've retired Guns N Roses. They are still on the road and that tour made them one of the biggest bands ever (again), so I think it would be way better to release something new while they still can?

Put the box sets etc out when you're old and grey..

But I'm looking forward to whatever it is, just don't think it's thaaat exciting.

They could do both if they wanted to, but.... The box set doesn't prevent them from releasing something new.

Geek stuff here. From the site's code they have only two mp3s that are called, here are the source, I don't think WTTJ every plays.

WTTJ plays, but it doesn't sound 'remastered'

They sound like they have been remastered. There seems to be greater separation between the instruments.

Can you imagine Axl trying to sing Shadow of Your Love now? Lol.

Similar register to Nice Boys.

Yes it's pretty high but it doesn't vary hugely in terms of pitch so I'd imagine he'd make a decent go of it.

The Shadow Of Your Love that's on the site sure does sound different than other versions that have been leaked or released over the years! :slash:

The dot on the map in Stockholm is in the same location as the biggest record store in town!

I’m not upset about it, but just seems odd for it to come out this year and last year would of made more sense.

In a weird way it kind of works out though IMHO- b/c the band didn’t really become known “the world over” until 1988...

It sounds like Shadow of your love hasn't been just remixed, but perhaps rerecored.  Maybe not everything, but Slash's parts sound new. If other songs like Bring it back home find that light of day, that would be pretty cool imo. A completely new song would be stellar, but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. But what other "goodies" could be on this thing does have me interested.
