I don't think you can separate the brand from the band. If the tour fails, so does the band, and the members, and everyone else who are involved in any capacity.

Well, we'll find out at the end of July whether GNR are going to surprise us......you've got until your deathbed to find out of the Lana Del Rey may happen! Popular Post t-p-d-a
Yes i care because it's still my favourite band and because of Slash, i play guitar! It's still amazing too see Slash live. I know how Axl sounds like... but it's fine. I have two tickes. Munich and Hannover

I haven't even been looking. I feel like this is the least anticipated Guns tour ever. I have tickets for the second show and could care less. I have been holding onto them for two years and it is on a Tuesday night. The band isn't doing anything to stir up any excitement. They are all 5 years older.. I expect Axl to look and sound like shit and use the show as a rehearsal. Ridiculous hats and elf boots included. They will still have the same half assed lineup complete with a terrible drummer and a blue haired anime bobblehead. I could care less if this lineup ever released a song. No interest in anything that includes Fortus, Frank or the Bobblehead. Axl sounded like crap on CD never mind now and I have no interest in any music that sounds anything like CD. For me the highlight of the "reunion" were the live shows. They have been a blast . I could watch Slash play those classics all day long but I couldn't be more indifferent about this show coming up. You would think it would be the total opposite since Covid stifled live shows for so long. Is anyone jacked up about the tour? I hear ya. But, if Axl came out in great shape and sounded good many attitudes would change. Won't happen though.

El Guapo
Of course it will be interesting to see how they come out the first show. I'm interested in how Axl will sound and look and if they play new music. If everything is the same as before or even worse, I'm out until something important changes. Free Bird
I didn't even have check out prices tbh because I told myself to boycott this cash grab until they release new music. That's something I still care for. But I'm sure you'll enjoy your time if your expectations aren't to high. It's still Slash playing the hell outta his guitar and even Axl has his moments on the AFD rockers.
surforia
I’m mildly interested at this point - whether I get tickets will depend on the set lists and Axl’s voice quality. I’m not very hopeful though.

Greatest band ever and freaking awesome live! Axl has now gotten the best musicians from the two GNR bands. And fans still go nuts when Axl hits the stage! rocknroll41
I’ll probably watch a periscope or two but that’s about it, unless things get really interesting with the band again.

If (and that's a BIG if) they play new music AND Axl sounds decent at the very least, I'll end up doing to the Detroit show. They probably won't and he probably won't, so I'll most likely not be going. Even if those things happen, the tickets are so cheap due to the terrible ticket sales that I'll be able to go for near free.

Subtle Signs
I think they'll play a new song and some rare Illusions material but that won't move tens of thousands of tickets. Not sure what would. Even a full AFD reunion tour might not move the needle.
megaguns1982
Imagine night one, lights come on, out walks the afd 5 and axl still sounds shit…. Don’t think even that would be worth it at this point….
Popular Post Powderfinger
Back in the late 80s & 90s people gave the Stones shit for touring at their age, the steel wheelchairs tour jibes, it’s a cash grab, they were basically labeled a Vegas Act in this era. Yet once they got back together in the late 80s, they released 3 albums of original material between 89-97, and the tours contained the new material alongside the warhorses. The last album of original material in 2005 had songs played live on that tour. What was thrown at the stones then is actually true of GNR now. They are a vegas act. 1 album since 1991, tours with the same songs every night. It is a cash grab. Axl cant sing the songs. This is just entertainment, an act, a show. Its not like going to see a band who play music and change up their setlist (see Pearl Jam as an example of band that plays their catalogue) GnR is the same show, every night, no communication with the audience, no much interaction with each other, get onstage perform the act and off they go. No new material. 175 shows on the reunion tour over 3.5 years and the same set EVERY night. Locomotive was thrown in once or twice, but that’s all I can remember. Not 1 new song, not even the original lineup. This is the most vegas type rock band I know of at this point. They’re a joke. (My anger with them is partly due to the band I saw in 1992, that band was playing brand new material every night, and even started a tour playing songs live no one had heard!! The album wasn’t released when it started) What could have been
Popular Post Sosso
@Powderfinger You could even say the same thing about the early CD line-ups with Robin, Bucket and Bumble (1996-2007) They were ambitious, full of energy and played unreleased material. I would rather see that than a half assed reunion. Edited July 5, 2021 by Sosso 4
